The back of the load presses on the horsemen of the dissolution. The load acts partly on the car and partly on the dissolution frame and its wheels. In order to properly distribute the weight when unraveling, a drawbar of variable length is provided.

    Requirements for transport devices

    A person who wants to independently make a transport vehicle for moving goods should study the requirements for car trailers. These standards are contained in GOST 37.001.220−1980, which is called “Trailers for passenger cars.” A selection of these requirements includes the following provisions:

    • the weight of the trailer should not exceed 1.8 tons and half the weight of the main vehicle;
    • the static load on the ball joint in its central part should be in the range of 25−100 KGS (kilogram-force);
    • the total length of the cart should not be more than 8 meters, the width should not exceed 2 m 30 cm, and the height should be within three meters;
    • the trailer should not have a ground clearance less than this characteristic of the vehicle moving it;
    • for a trailer, one axle is used, but it is allowed to use two parallel ones, at a distance of no more than a meter from one another;
    • the traction device and the hitch are duplicated by two firmly fixed pieces of chain or cable to insure the clutch in the event of a hinge failure;
    • to secure the stop of the semi-trailer, the kit should include two wheel chocks; you can also make them yourself, or you can buy ready-made, factory-made ones;
    • if body parts are located below the cargo being transported, and it poses a risk of contamination of passing vehicles, then mudguards or fenders are installed;
    • the hitch and traction device must be manufactured in the factory, and this is confirmed by a special certificate;
    • there must be fastenings for a plate with a number;
    • in order to be able to use the on-board network of the machine, an electrical cable with an attached plug is provided and there is a diagram of the electrical equipment in the form as defined by GOST 9209–1976.

    Features of using carts

    Car trailers are used only in accordance with their intended purpose, as this is due to similar tires and wheels with the main vehicle, track width, and travel within certain ground clearance dimensions. The rule does not apply to heavy trucks and trailers. All breakdowns that occur during operation are similar to malfunctions of the brake system and chassis of the main machine.

    In addition, the operation of the trailer is impaired due to damage to the coupling or wear of the turning device.

    To delay the repair of these systems, you need to regularly inspect the trailer. Since the operation of the device is associated with constant shaking and shock due to uneven traffic on roads, it is necessary to tighten the fasteners from time to time and align the curved parts.     We cut four pieces of square rod and weld them to the base - this will be the “seat” for the bottle jack. We weld a handle-bracket made from a square rod to the outside of the rack.

    The author welds a mount with a roller to the front of the frame so that the structure can be conveniently moved in the garage and on the street.

    Instead of a roller, you can install a pair of wheels. Some craftsmen install two pairs of wheels, but one will be enough. By the way, you can make the wheels yourself.

    Rules for driving with a roll-up trailer

    Not every partially loaded vehicle trailer requires a BE license. The classification of all vehicle categories is reflected in the content of Article 25 of the Federal Law-196, according to which category “B” licenses make it possible to drive not only passenger cars, but also attach trailers to them with a maximum weight of 750 kg, not exceeding the weight of the vehicle without load. If the maximum weight of the maintenance train remains within 3500 kg.

    Thus, you are not required to obtain a BE license if you need to tow a car:

The support corner is made of two pipes connected by small sections of metal profile every 20-30 centimeters. It can move vertically along a guide rail. A series of holes are made in the latter, with which you can fix the tipper in the desired position. When the lifting is completed, the platform can be secured with a bolt. In addition, the platform and the support angle are also connected with a bolt.

    How to install the device

    It is important not only to correctly carry out the work on manufacturing the tipper, but also to install the mechanism properly. First you need to stretch the support platform under the bottom of the vehicle. The heel should be on the side that will rise. We introduce a support corner from above, which is secured with a bolt to the platform. The support beam is then inserted into the device. Before doing this, the caps should be removed from the wheels to which the beam is adjacent.

    The heel is installed between the platform and the support corner. The rail must pass through all three elements. It acts as a guide and fixator. The bottom of the rail is screwed to the platform using a bolt. Next, lubricate the profile with grease to make it easier to move along the rail. Only then do we install the element, moving it slightly under the bottom of the car.

    A jack is then attached to the tipper and lifting begins. Having reached the desired height, we fix it with a cotter pin inserted into the hole.

    Manual lift for lifting a car

    This device is not a jack in the truest sense of the word. However, this is one of the types of mechanical lift.

    Car jack with homemade hydraulic system

    Some home craftsmen come up with completely homemade designs - that is, without the use of hydraulic or mechanical jacks. However, in most cases, such homemade devices do not justify themselves.

    One of these devices for lifting a car was made by the author of the YouTube channel K i.

    To make the frame of the structure, the author used metal profile pipes. A wheel axle is welded to the bottom of the frame, onto which two wheels are placed. Furniture wheels are attached to the opposite end of the base.

    The author made the hydraulic system from plastic sewer pipes, a silicone hose, fittings and a piston. All elements of the system are interconnected. Attached to the frame.

    The frame and handle will need to be painted (all welds must first be cleaned), after which you can begin the final assembly of the lifting device.

    Today we would like to talk about a rigid hitch with partial loading of a car. In common parlance - “tackle”. Two manufacturers are widely known in our village. Both make turntable carts. About the first one, we heard not the most flattering reviews from friends: the carts fall apart, after each race they have to be patched and strengthened. The second one is in perfect order with the reliability of the carts, but due to the high metal consumption, the “rolls” are very heavy. And everything would be fine, but recently nothing has been heard about the second manufacturer. Therefore, we decided to weld the cart ourselves.

    We started with analyzing and designing a tackle to suit our needs.

    We decided to make a rigid cart for several reasons:

    The metal consumption of the structure and, accordingly, the cost are lower. Fewer nodes means greater reliability. And it’s easier to make a rigid one than a rotary one.

    The only disadvantage of a hard tackle is the effect of pushing the tractor in a turn. Precisely because of the lack of ability to turn. This feature is felt on light tractors, but in the case of our

    - it will be little noticeable. And there haven’t been many maneuvers in narrow places in our entire travel history. Having assessed all the pros and cons, we settled on a hard tackle.
