- Today in a master class with step-by-step photos we will make a gerbera flower from foamiran with our own hands.
- We will prepare the following materials:
- • white and green foamiran; • candle; • iron; • awl or toothpick; • scissors; • glue gun; • curly scissors; • cardboard;
- • pencil.
First, draw a petal 4 cm long and 1 cm wide on cardboard. Cut it out and get a template.
We trace this template on foamiran using an awl or toothpick 24 times. You will get 24 petals.
We cut out the petals and form the upper rounded edge using curly scissors. You can cut just a few millimeters so that the edge turns out wavy.
We draw lines in the middle of each petal, giving them texture.
To make the petals more voluminous, each petal must be heated over a candle. Don’t lower it too low and hold it for just a couple of seconds.
For the center of the gerbera, we cut out one strip of green foamiran measuring 30x0.5 cm, and the second from white foam measuring 30x1.5 cm. We cut the green one into a small fringe on one edge, and cut one edge of the white stripe with curly scissors (zigzag) and also cut it this edge is fringed along the width of the recesses.

Today we will show you how to make a gerbera from foamiran with your own hands. Small-sized hairpins are easy to make.

Materials and tools for making flowers:
- white Chinese foamiran 50*50 cm, 1 mm thick;
- black Chinese foamiran 50*50 cm, 1 mm thick;
- toothpick;
- ruler;
- glue gun;
- hot melt glue rods;
- Super glue;
- iron;
- elastic band - 2 pcs;
- scissors.
Gerbera from Thomas. Let's start by making the center of the flower. For this you will need black foamiran. Let's mark it as follows: step back 1 centimeter from the edge of the sheet, mark with a toothpick, make 3 such marks 10 centimeters apart in order to draw an even line through these points.
We measure 31 cm in length. Cut the foam along the marked line.
The center of a gerbera flower consists of stamens. In order to make stamens, finely chop the resulting black segment, not cutting 0.5 cm.
Now you need to make the inner small leaves of the gerbera. To do this, take a strip of white foamiran and mark it as follows: width 1 cm and length 30 cm.
Fold the strip in half and cut finely, not reaching the edge.
Prepare the second layer of white petals. To do this, take white foam, the strip will be the same as the first one - 1 cm wide and 30 cm long. Cut into approximately equal pieces 3 mm wide, without cutting 0.5 mm to the end of the strip.
We round off the sections of future petals, as in the photo.
All that remains is to prepare the large gerbera petals. Can be done using a template. Print and cut out.
- We attach the template to the white foamiran and trace the petal; just one flower will need 25-28 leaves.
- We cut out the blanks.
All parts of the flower that are already ready are processed using an iron. Set mode 2 (silk). Place the center of the flower on the heated surface. As soon as it starts to curl, remove it.
- We apply a strip of white flower to the iron, wait until the fom begins to “inflate”.
The middle strip of petals remains. We heat it according to the same scheme as the first two.
- We process large petals in the same way as ribbons: we apply them to the iron and wait for the foamiran to begin to swell.
We cut the black center into two equal parts of 15.5 cm each. We assemble the center with superglue, with the stamens sticking out. Coat the uncut edge of the tape with glue and roll it up.
- We glue the lower part of the segment with small white gerbera petals.
We attach it to the middle, we begin to fasten it in the place where the black tape ends. The height should be slightly lower than the black tape. We make one revolution.
We attach the middle petals. We coat the uncut part of the tape with glue and apply it to the middle. We glue it so that the whole part of the tape is not visible. We make one circle, cut off the excess.
- We glue large petals, as in the photo.
- In the intervals between the first petals we glue the second layer.
All that remains is to make the sepals. From white foamiran we cut out a circle with a diameter of 2.5 cm. We cut out the edge of the circle in an arbitrary wave.
- We process it with an iron, slightly pulling the middle of the circle.
- We coat the back side of the flower with glue and apply the sepals so as to cover the places where the petals are glued.
We will also make the fasteners for the hairpin from white foam. Cut out a piece measuring 1 cm by 2.5 cm. Round the edges. For two hairpins you will need two such parts.
- We apply an elastic band in the center, coat the made fasteners on both sides with glue, and attach to the flower.

Use this pattern:
Cut out two strips from green fom 1.5 by 15 cm, from burgundy 2 by 15 cm. Cut the first strip with a thin fringe, and the second along the top edge with a fence. It is convenient to do this with curly scissors. Cut through the petals, not reaching the edge 0.5 cm. Cut out the parts according to the attached diagram. You will need 30 long petals.
Tint the fom with any paint using a sponge.
Place each piece on the iron set to “wool” setting. In this case, the stripes will curl beautifully, and the petals will acquire a soft bend. Handle the foliage and sepals with your hands, twirling them thoroughly between your fingers.
The assembly of the flower is carried out similarly to that described in the previous lesson. The petals are glued in rows in a checkerboard pattern. Glue the bud to the hairpin fittings (in this case, a “duck” is used), hide the attachment point with a green circle.
