Practical and enjoyable activity

Many people make flowers with their own hands from chiffon, felt, paper, cotton pads, plastic masses - in a word, from what is at hand. This type of hobby has become quite popular recently. If you sew, there are always small scraps of fabric left over that can be put to good use. In addition, you can decorate interior details with flowers made at home, for example, curtains, clothes, and make hairpins and headbands.

Evening dresses with bow

This beautiful addition remains relevant for sophisticated going out outfits. Long styles in dark and deep colors remain a fashionable choice. Contrasts are popular in this design, for example, dresses with red bows. In addition to the decorative accessory, a bare back and shoulders, a train, and a one-shoulder cut are considered spectacular finishes. A flirty bow will also fit well into an attractive cocktail look. For such bows, short items or an asymmetrical hem, elongated at the back and shortened at the front, are suitable. In the latter case, a large decoration on the lower back will be fashionable.

Tools and materials

To make chiffon flowers with your own hands, you will need the following:

  • the fabric itself;
  • template paper;
  • scissors;
  • candle or lighter for finishing edges;
  • threads with a needle;
  • frame for the stem (floral or regular wire, toothpick);
  • glue or heat gun.

You definitely have everything except the heat gun and fabric at home. The material can be purchased. There are stores that sell it by weight. They usually offer leftovers in different shades that are just right for handicrafts.

Thermal gun is a heating device in which special glue sticks melt under the influence of temperature. This tool is very convenient when you need to quickly connect parts or surfaces, for example, in hard-to-reach places. If you are going to make crafts or interior decorations, this device will definitely come in handy.

Types of material

Before you start making chiffon flowers with your own hands, it is worth getting acquainted with the properties of existing options for the fabric with which you will work. Chiffon has a huge range of colors and possibilities in terms of design and decorative use.

The following types of this fabric are sold:

  • crepe chiffon;
  • jacquard;
  • chiffon-satin;
  • chameleon;
  • with spraying;
  • with lurex;
  • pearl chiffon;
  • stretch chiffon;
  • with color transition;
  • printed.

The first is a natural silk fabric of plain weave. Jacquard chiffon is dense and opaque. Maybe with a picture. This type uses a special method of weaving threads. The third type is a wonderful combination of the properties of chiffon and satin. The “chameleon” option is very thin, shimmering in different shades. Sprayed fabric is beautiful because it has a silver or golden layer applied. Type No. 6 has a lurex shiny thread in its structure. Pearl chiffon has a pleasant pearlescent shimmer. Stretch chiffon is dense and stretchy. In fabrics with a color transition in one cut, there is a smooth change in shade from light pink, for example, to dark. Printed fabric is chiffon with a pattern.

As you can see, there are many opportunities to make beautiful flowers with your own hands from chiffon. Even if you choose the simplest technology and use one template, due to the variety of shades and quality of the fabric, you can get magnificent floral compositions.

Benefits of organza

Whichever option you choose, the sequence of work will be as follows:

  1. Cut out petal templates from paper. You can draw them yourself, focusing on the image of a natural object, or take blanks from the Internet.
  2. Place the template on the fabric, trace it, and cut out the petal.
  3. To prevent the edges from crumbling, you need to process them over the flame of a candle or lighter.

    In addition, this operation will help to achieve a more natural, slightly curved shape. Hold the workpiece with tweezers. Instead, you can sew the petals from two identical parts and then turn the parts inside out so that the seam remains inside.

  4. When all the petals are ready, start assembling them using a thread and a needle. Some parts will have to be glued.
  5. Make sepals from green chiffon. They are usually made from square.
  6. Secure the assembled object to the stem.

Options and models of organza skirts for girls

There are several types of this item, which differ in their manufacture:

  • Lush variation;
  • Tutu skirt;
  • Multi-layered item.

Any of these options is quite simple to manufacture. To do this, you will need a sufficient amount of fabric, scissors, an elastic band, some decor, free time and a creative flight of fancy.

Attention! To make it easier to work with the fabric, wash and iron the fabric before starting the process.

The first method is one of the simplest options.
For it you will need a piece of fabric equal to six times the length of the skirt. Completing of the work:

  • Cut the fabric into strips equal to the length of the hem;
  • Connect the strips into a single fabric;
  • Finish one edge (the one that will be the bottom) with a zigzag seam or using decorative materials: bias tape, satin ribbon, etc.;
  • Sew the top edge with narrow stitches;
  • Pull the thread, forming beautiful folds, to the desired width;
  • Take a piece of wide elastic and sew it into a circle;
  • Then carefully stitch the hem blank to the elastic waistband;
  • Decorate the belt on top with a wide satin ribbon, which will be tied into a beautiful bow.

The next method is no less simple.
It can be created without sewing. To implement this, you will also need a piece of fabric and a wide elastic band.

The working process:

  • Sew the elastic into a ring and fix it in a stretched form (to do this, you can put it on the legs of an inverted stool);
  • Cut the fabric into strips of equal width. Their length should be equal to two hem lengths;
  • Fold the strips in half and secure around the elastic;
  • Try to place the strips as close to each other as possible;
  • The product can be left in this form, or it can be stitched along the belt for greater strength;
  • Decorate the item. To do this, you can attach artificial flowers to your belt, as shown in the sample.

For a multi-layer model, you will need to create a cover.
It is best to use elastic fabric. Execution sequence:

  • Cut out the required number of ruffle pieces from the fabric (cut along an oblique line);
  • Process the edges of the workpieces using an overlocker or a zigzag seam;
  • We sew a base from elastic fabric (preferably using stretch);
  • Sew the ruffles to the base. At the same time, laying the fabric in beautiful folds;
  • Fold the joining edges;
  • After completion, iron the ruffles in one direction;
  • Turn the top edge of the base inside out and stitch, forming a drawstring;
  • Insert an elastic band into the drawstring.

Reference! Organza is a very capricious material, so you need to be especially careful when working with it. To prevent the open edge from fraying or fraying during the sewing process, treat it with an open flame.

Chiffon flower: master class

Usually petals are made from separate parts cut out according to a template, but there is a faster way. However, this method will only work on things that have a terry structure: roses, carnations, peonies.

So, let's make a simple chiffon flower. The pattern will be a long rectangle, so no paper templates are needed. There may be several such tapes connected together. The manufacturing technology is as follows:

  1. Cut a strip of fabric. Its dimensions are determined by the dimensions of the flower.
  2. Fold it in half lengthwise and sew by hand or on a machine all sides except the fold. The stitches and steps between them should be large.
  3. You assemble the fabric on a thread.

  4. From the resulting blank, you begin to form a flower, twisting the strip in a spiral and connecting the layers with a needle and thread.

  5. You sew the reverse side if you are going to fix the flower on a flat surface, or you make a sepal with a stem for a voluminous composition.

Flower made from round patterns

The manufacturing technology described at the beginning of the article talked about cutting out templates for individual petals and their subsequent processing. You can simplify the work and make a chiffon flower (with your own hands) from circles with a figured edge.

It's so easy to get, for example, a poppy or any stylized pattern. The work will be as follows:

  1. Make a paper template in the form of a circle with incised or clearly pointed, rounded or other petals.
  2. Using the workpiece, make several chiffon parts.
  3. Process the edges.
  4. Lay them one on top of the other in layers and sew them together with a needle. You can sew a bead into the middle or make, for example, a poppy box in the form of a chiffon “bag” filled with scraps of fabric.
  5. Make sepals and stem if necessary.

Lush bow made of nylon or organza ribbon

For such a bow you will need a cardboard template or you can replace it with something similar. You need two parallel lines at a short distance from each other. My template is 13 cm wide, height does not play a big role here. My tape is 2.5 cm wide, you can take it wider or narrower, it’s at your discretion. My length is about 2.5 meters, I didn’t measure it, this is an approximate estimate, you can also take more or less if you wish. For greater pomp, of course you need to take longer.

The ribbon is wrapped around the template and stitched or tied in the middle. To make the ribbon fluff up even better, small cuts are made in the middle (where it is tied) and then the bow will be more magnificent, but I didn’t make them.

We fluff and style as we like.

This is how the airy and light bow turned out. You can use this method to pack gift boxes or make hair decorations.

In a similar way, you can make a lush bow from ribbon for gift wrapping.

Where can the completed products be used?

So, as you can see, there are several ways to make such jewelry. There are many options for using the resulting decorative elements. They are used to decorate clothes, curtains, hairpins and headbands, bags, and interiors.

Volumetric bouquets of such flowers also turn out very beautiful and look like real ones. A topiary made from chiffon flowers would be an excellent souvenir. This popular decor imitates a decorative tree trimmed into a ball in a pot. To make it, you will need flower blanks made using any of the above methods, a spherical blank, a stem rod, a pot or vase. It is better to glue flowers onto the surface of the base using a hot-melt gun.

So, you've read how to make a chiffon flower in several ways. The photographs in the article clearly show how beautiful souvenirs made using this technique are.

Wedding dresses with bow

The tenderness and romanticism of the decoration will successfully complement the sophisticated image of the bride. And in modern wedding fashion, not only monochrome ideas are welcomed, but also eye-catching contrasts that act as a bright, attractive accent. Additions of red, purple and black have become especially popular. In the latest collections, large-sized jewelry, both clear and soft in shape, is considered fashionable. Designers offer beautiful wedding clothes with a variety of finishing variations:

  1. Wedding dress with a bow on the front
    . Outfits in a white or cream shade with an A-shaped silhouette with a train and yoke framed by a large accessory look very beautiful. The decor can be placed at the front and at the waist.

  1. Wedding dress with a bow at the back
    . A romantic accessory can be the beginning of a long train from the lumbar area or shoulder blades. This decoration can also act as a large-sized false decoration on the back.

  1. Short styles
    . For short-length models, additions of a bright contrasting shade, combined with a satin ribbon at the waist, have become popular.
