Homemade fly swatter with insect shooting function
Today I want to tell you about how you can make a fly swatter at home with the function of shooting insects.
To begin with, I suggest you watch a video on how to make this device.
This concerns killing insects with your own efforts, and now I will tell you about this “shooting function”.
So, you need to take an elastic band (you can take it like an ordinary elastic band, but it’s better, of course, to take a thicker one) and carefully pull it as shown in the photo (by the way, you can pull several elastic bands so that there are several “shots”).
Due to the fact that by pressing the button you lower the lever down, you suddenly release the elastic from the tension and it quickly flies to the target, thereby causing damage to your insect.
The fly swatter is quite compact; we tighten the slipper and the rod with an elastic band and store the fly swatter. And you can practically store the “attachments” with which you kill targets in the sneaker itself.

With carbon dioxide
The most common and easiest to make homemade trap. Its action is based on the fact that the mosquito searches for its prey by the smell of carbon dioxide released by living organisms. But it’s not just warm-blooded creatures that emit carbon dioxide. Gas can be produced using yeast fermentation. Yeast, feeding on carbohydrates, releases CO₂ like humans. The mosquito flies into the trap, “thinking” that it is a warm-blooded organism. Once the insect has entered through the funnel, it can no longer get out.
On a note!
The carbon dioxide mosquito trap should not be placed near people. A person exhales more CO₂ than a two-liter bottle of mash.
Stir sugar in warm water, add yeast and pour into the prepared trap. The bottle is wrapped in cloth or paper to keep it dark inside. This trap works for a week. Then the solution needs to be replaced with fresh one. If desired, you can do without yeast, with plain water.
Review
I would not say that this is a very effective means of killing mosquitoes in the house. But the smell from the yeast is excellent. As soon as the neighbors did not complain about moonshine. I can’t say that this mosquito trap helps well, but the fruit flies in it have multiplied terribly.

Principle of operation
An electric fly swatter resembles a tennis or badminton racket in appearance. It has a handle and head, just like a regular fly swatter. There is a cover on the handle that hides two small batteries that power the “gadget.” The head is equipped with a three-layer mesh of metal electrical rods.
Main characteristics of the product:
Advantages of an electric fly swatter over a conventional one:
The price of a fly swatter on Aliexpress is 294 rubles, while in domestic country goods stores its cost is set between 500 and 1000 rubles.
Numerous positive customer reviews indicate the high quality of the product and its effectiveness in controlling flying pests. Based on this, we can conclude that the price-quality ratio is most optimal in the Aliexpress hypermarket.
How to use an electric fly swatter - video
An electric fly swatter can be called an innovative device on our market. With small but sure steps, this device is replacing aerosols, adhesive tape traps, baits and even the good old newspaper rolled into a tube. Externally, the device resembles a badminton racket with a comfortable long handle. Only the mesh is woven not from fishing line, but from thin metal wire. This is the working surface of the electric fly swatter.
The pseudo-racket is designed according to the sandwich rule: a positively charged fine grid in the center of the device is surrounded on both sides by coarse-mesh grids with a negative charge. The insect falls into the hole and is trapped. By touching the “core”, a fly or mosquito provokes an electric discharge and themselves becomes victims of the current.
The voltage inside the working surface (grid) reaches 2000-3000 volts (depending on the model). A blocking generator is built into the electric fly swatter, which converts the modest voltage of AA batteries into such a powerful indicator.
Accordingly, if a person accidentally touches the metal mesh, he will only feel a sensitive tingling sensation, nothing more (remember the birds sitting on the wires). However, to get to the “core”, you will have to remove two protective meshes on the sides, so contact with the high voltage zone is almost impossible.
Trap from a plastic bottle with yeast
The simplest design that can be done in half an hour. For manufacturing you will need the following components:
- Two liter plastic bottle.
- 250 ml water.
- 70 grams of sugar.
- 2 grams of dry yeast.
The algorithm is simple. You need to cut off the neck of the bottle just above the center of the container. Then, into the resulting bowl, the lower part of the bottle, you need to pour water and add sugar. For it to disperse, the liquid must be warm. Stir the resulting composition until a homogeneous solution is formed.
Go to website
After the solution has cooled, you need to mix it with yeast. Now stir the mixture again until smooth.
The next step is to turn the cut neck of the bottle over and place it down into the bowl. The sides of the plastic bottle should be wrapped with opaque paper and secured with tape so that light does not penetrate into the container.
The resulting structure should be placed in the place of the highest concentration of mosquitoes. You can use an improvised trap both at home and outdoors. Mosquitoes love the smell of yeast dissolved in water. Because during the fermentation process a lot of carbon dioxide is released. It is this substance that acts as an indicator of the presence of a living creature in the field of view. Professional outdoor gas traps work on the same principle.
Once the bloodsuckers come into contact with the viscous composition inside the bottle, they will no longer be able to fly back. For reliability, you can place several devices around your garden or in your country house in places where mosquitoes accumulate.
The service life of a homemade bottle mosquito trap is several days. Then you need to make a new bait.
Advantages:
- Ease of manufacture. It will take half an hour and a minimum of components to complete.
- Low cost. According to various estimates, the price of the finished product is about 100 rubles or even less.
- High efficiency within the allotted time.
Minuses:
- Short period of action.
- Relatively small radius of positive effect.
- The need to constantly update the improvised bait.
You can use a bottle of yeast solution as a primary or secondary method.
How effective are electric insect killers?
Lamp-based electric exterminators can indeed be very effective in exterminating flying insects indoors, provided that the device is selected taking into account the area that needs to be protected.
With a low number of cockroaches and constant updating of the bait, the electronic exterminator-house also shows good results, however, the tangible effect of reducing the population may not appear immediately, but only after a few days.
But against ants, such an electric trap usually turns out to be not very effective, since it destroys only working individuals looking for something to profit from, while the queen in the anthill continues to actively lay more and more new eggs.
It should also be borne in mind that if there are a large number of midges, for example, on the terrace in the evening, even a powerful lamp exterminator may not cope, and you may still be bitten by mosquitoes - in this case, it is useful to combine electric exterminators with repellents, for example, mosquito coils.
“The insect killer lamp didn’t help us. I don’t know, maybe we had some special conditions. We bought a good one, Italian, hung it in the bedroom, just to protect ourselves from mosquitoes, they were so dark in the evenings. But they chew even in front of her, and in the morning they die in the shredder. We ended up buying branded mesh for the windows and forgetting about the problem.”
As for electric fumigators, in general they do a good job of destroying flying insects indoors. And if you turn on such a fumigator in a closed cabinet, it will help get rid of not only moths, but also their larvae. However, in most cases, fumigators have virtually no effect on cockroaches, fleas, house ants and, even more so, bedbugs.
Effective mosquito killers and repellers
Repellent is a pocket-sized insect repellent.
This is the most commonly used mosquito repellent. Before purchasing, be sure to read the contents indicated on the packaging, since these devices may cause allergic reactions. But remember that this pocket mosquito repeller is biocidal in nature, so it must be used with special precautions. Armbands
There are special wrist bracelets on the market that make you invisible to insects
And all this is due to the substance that they release, blocking the enemy’s receptors. The bracelet is a convenient and fashionable mosquito repeller, which, unlike repellents, is non-toxic and impregnated with natural active ingredients. This product is a good mosquito repellent because the bandage emits the smell of citronella, which is pleasant to humans but unbearable to mosquitoes. Thanks to this, you can even put the bandage on a baby. Electrofumigators with cartridges. Excellent protection against insects will be provided by an electrofumigator, that is, a mosquito repeller that, when connected to electricity, causes the substance to evaporate. Acts as a deterrent for insects and is also effective for large rooms. The long-lasting effect of the drug ensures restful sleep for many summer days. Works even with open windows and lights on. Cartridges for an electric fumigator can be in the form of a plate or a test tube with an active substance. Thermacell Mosquito Repeller is a professional insect repellent option widely used in the United States. It is used by hunters, fishermen, tourists and even military personnel. This is a portable mosquito repeller that works similar to a fumigator, only it does not require electricity to operate. Designed to protect four people, the range is 20 m². The portable device creates a kind of protective dome against mosquitoes that keeps annoying insects out. Electric mosquito repellers. So-called ultrasonic repellers are much more convenient to use. Just connect it to a contact, and special waves will effectively repel insects. Mosquito repellent software produces a sound of a certain frequency, but its waves are beyond the audibility of the human ear and most pets. Mobile devices of this type powered by a battery are also available on the market, such as the Chicco Zanza No. Attractant lamps. In the fight against mosquitoes, the power of light is effective. Lamps with insecticides are placed not only in houses, but also in garden gazebos or on terraces. Their action is based on simulating UV radiation of a special wavelength that attracts flying insects. The great advantage of this solution is the fact that devices of this type do not use or spray any chemicals and do not emit odors unpleasant to humans.
Did your mosquito repellent not work? Then it is necessary to disinfect the bite site with hydrogen peroxide and apply a soothing gel. This type of product contains anti-inflammatory substances. After the bite, you can rub the area with a slice of onion and vinegar. In case of swelling, soda compresses will help. It is worth taking calcium with vitamin C. If alarming symptoms appear, a treatment regimen is needed, which can only be prescribed by a qualified doctor if treated in a timely manner.

What is necessary?
Baker's yeast is the most popular ingredient in all kinds of mosquito traps. Due to efficiency, availability and low cost.
To make a trap you will also need:
- plastic bottle of any color with a volume of 2 liters;
- warm water in an amount of 200 ml, at a temperature no higher than 40 degrees (at higher thermal values, fermentation will stop);
- 50 g granulated sugar;
- 1 g baker's yeast;
- black cloth or paper (opaque), you can also use aluminum foil.
To get rid of other pests, yeast is replaced with honey, jam or small pieces of fruit - something with a more pronounced smell.
A trap wrapped in a dark cloth or foil successfully disguises what is hidden inside it. Mosquitoes are deceived because the trap has no light and seems safe to them. When they fall into a trap, they try to climb up, but the narrow cone-shaped hole will not allow them to do this. Sooner or later, insects will fall into the water and die there.
One trap works from 4 days to a week. Until all the sweet element is converted into alcohol by fermentation. Then you can leave the bottle, but the bait will have to be changed (the old one becomes ineffective). If it is a trap for other insects and there is jam or honey inside, it will be used continuously for 2 weeks.
DIY electric fly swatter
Craftsmen have already tested methods for constructing analogues of factory-made fly swatters at home. The videos, which you can find on the Internet if you wish, describe and show in detail what can be used as a working base, how to properly insulate the handle, and what the electrical circuit is.
How to escape from annoying insects during a picnic or in an apartment? There are many recipes and methods, but not all of them are simple and convenient.
An electric fly swatter is an innovative device that allows you to quickly and effortlessly destroy mosquitoes, flies, horseflies, wasps and other “troublemakers.”
Sticky traps
Sticky insect traps The appearance of sticky tapes against flies and mosquitoes does not give aesthetic pleasure to contemplating them in the house. But such simple devices are among the simplest and most effective traps made with your own hands. A mosquito trap can be made in a few minutes:
- prepare long rectangular pieces, most often made from cardboard or thick paper;
- make a hole in each of them for a rope or wire with which the trap will be suspended;
- lubricate each tape with an adhesive mass, which acts both as a bait for mosquitoes and as a fixing component.
A wide variety of mixtures are used as adhesive mass for traps. If there is no time to prepare them, it is enough to lubricate the preparations with castor oil, turpentine, honey, rosin and hang them in places where insects are most annoying.
As flies, midges, midges and other blood-sucking species adhere, the mosquito trap must be disposed of and replaced.
Recipes for preparing sticky mixtures for mosquitoes and midges:
- 50 ml of any sweet syrup, jam or honey, the same amount of turpentine, 200 g of rosin and 100 g of castor oil;
- 100 g of petroleum jelly and rosin, 50 g of honey, 20 g of glycerin;
- 150 g pine resin, 75 ml vegetable oil, 25 g honey or syrup, 5 g wax;
- alcohol, milk, sugar, calcium dichromate, ground black pepper in arbitrary proportions.
On a note!
In an apartment or house, gauze soaked in adhesive mixtures with the addition of insecticides and hung on the ventilation holes will help you escape from mosquito attacks.
Application in radio electronics: heating a soldering iron tip
A classic example of using DIY projects is radio electronics . It is rare to meet an amateur who has never held a soldering iron in his hands and has not encountered circuits. When working with elements on printed circuit boards, especially if the equipment is inexpensive, you have to overcome a number of inconveniences. For example, overheating of a soldering iron, which can lead to a whole range of undesirable consequences (carbon deposits):
To avoid this, many homemade products have been invented. There is a successful and inexpensive option for controlling the temperature of the tip. A simple craft diagram makes it possible to regulate the voltage. A rectifier bridge is used, which allows you to increase the voltage from 220 V to 310 V. Relevant for those who have low voltage at home.
Convenience is that you can customize it to suit your needs and for a specific operation. A dimmer for a chandelier is a good choice as a regulator. If you don’t have one at hand, you can also make it yourself. It is necessary to check the compliance of the position of the electric regulator with the specific performance of the soldering iron (temperature).
Homemade homemade product is quite effective, but has a drawback. The temperature range that can be installed will be small. Although, if desired, the omission can be eliminated. It is enough to supplement the craft circuit with a resistor for fine tuning.
The use of electricity in mosquito control
Making a homemade electric mosquito trap with your own hands requires some knowledge and skills in the field of electricity. To make an ultrasonic mosquito repeller with your own hands, you need to understand electrical engineering, understand circuit diagrams and be able to work with a soldering iron. It's easier to make a mosquito trap lamp. We offer two methods to choose from.
Lamp insect catcher
To assemble the device you will need:
- a juice tetra-pack with a capacity of at least 2 liters or a mayonnaise bucket;
- light bulb with socket or flashlight;
- gauze cloth;
- wire/rope;
- a small fan with a diameter of 100 mm, it can be taken from a non-working PC.
The procedure for assembling the device is as follows.
- The upper and lower parts of the tetra bag must be cut off; in the case of a bucket, the bottom is cut off. You need to make small holes in the side walls through which a rope or wire is pulled to attach the future device.
- Attach the fan to the bottom of the housing so that the air flow from the blades is directed downward. Connect the rotating structural element to the wires with a plug to connect it to the electrical network.
- Glue a gauze bag to the body at the bottom of the structure.
- At the top, make a handle from wire, to which you attach a flashlight or a socket with a light bulb.
The principle of operation of such a trap is to attract mosquitoes with light. The air flow picks up and moves the flying tribe inside the gauze bag.
What is an electric fly swatter and how does it work?
An effective device for combating flying aggressors looks like a regular badminton racket. The main difference is that instead of the usual strong fishing line, a metal mesh is stretched over the plastic body.
This material is there for a reason. An electric discharge passes through thin rods
, killing insects. The electric field created above the surface of the racket leaves no chance for a fly, a mosquito, or even a bumblebee.
There is an LED flashlight on the handle. The backlight helps you hunt for insects in the dark.
Reviews of homemade products
Today there are many safe, harmless to human health and the environment means of mosquito control. All of them are effective when performed correctly. According to reviews from craftsmen, there are indeed significantly fewer mosquitoes. But when using this or that, first of all you need to think about safety.
The methods presented above can be used in turn or all together. Over time, mosquitoes become accustomed to the traps. Therefore, it is recommended to change the devices periodically.

Options for replacing an electric rat trap with other types of traps
No matter how simple and convenient electric rat traps are, in many cases one or another of their shortcomings does not allow home owners to use them.
In such cases, more traditional means can be used with the same reliability:
A good option (if used correctly and carefully) is poison for rats and mice. They are very inexpensive, effective, and if placed in bait houses, they are quite safe - neither children nor pets can get them.
If you have personal experience using electric rat traps, be sure to share the information by leaving your review at the bottom of this page.
The appearance of mice in the house is a problem that requires drastic measures. You need to get rid of rodents, because they spread dangerous infections (including parasitic ones) and spoil food. An effective way to deal with uninvited guests is an electric mousetrap, which eliminates animals using a high-voltage discharge.
Homemade sticky bait
Adhesive tapes are an effective repellent against mosquitoes and flies. These traps can be made at home, so there is no need to buy them in a store. First you need to take care of the components for the viscous mass. It is applied to paper or fabric tapes. The glue is made from several ingredients:
Recipe 1 | Recipe 2 | Recipe 3 |
|
|
|
Materials for a trap can be found in any home. It is made from:
- Cardboard sleeve. It can be removed from a roll of toilet paper or paper napkins.
- Thick paper. Thin ones get wet faster.
- Threads.
The trap looks like a regular roll. It is made according to the following method:
- Cut a long strip of thick paper (preferably from a sheet of wallpaper).
- Wrap it around a cardboard sleeve to make a roll.
- Prepare the glue. Ingredients from any recipe are mixed together. Next, they need to be heated in steam.
- Pull a small piece of tape from the sleeve, lubricating it with glue.
- The trap is installed in the place of greatest concentration of insects.
- When the sticky area is filled with them, it is torn off and a new one is lubricated.
- Eggplant Parmigiano - how to cook step by step according to recipes with chicken, minced meat or baked peppers
- How the lives of Russians will change from April 1, 2022
- Symptoms of cardiac neurosis and their differences from real problems
Adhesive tape can also be made in a simplified form. Ribbons cut from a sheet of thick paper are lubricated with one of these baits:
- rosin;
- turpentine;
- Castor oil;
- jam.
Next, the traps are hung with clothespins on clotheslines. When the tape becomes full of insects, it is simply replaced with a new one. You need to prepare and use sticky baits carefully. These mixtures are difficult to wash even from the skin, not to mention clothes. The second disadvantage of such traps is their fragility. Natural ingredients do not last as long as their chemical counterparts.
Customer Reviews
Many people have already purchased this simple and effective device. What do buyers think about the electric fly swatter?
Anya, Moscow
“I read the description of the new device on the Internet and immediately thought that this was another advertising gimmick. I asked my husband for advice. He said that the process described in the instructions is quite realistic.
I bought a miracle racket. Works great. You sit, wave at her, and the mosquitoes “fry” without any problems. A good thing. I recommend."
Andrey, Ekaterinburg
“I saw this thing at my neighbors’ place. They said it copes well with flies. I bought it and gave it to my wife. It turned out to be a really effective device. If there are a lot of midges, you don’t have to give a shock every time. Press the button immediately and swing the racket. The grid will be constantly energized.”
Ivan Arkadievich, Tula
“In the summer I live at the dacha. Insects sometimes get to you. My daughter brought me a device that resembled a simple badminton racket.
Now I don’t know grief. In the evening, in the gazebo, I swing a racket, fortunately it is very light, mosquitoes die instantly. I'm glad that regular AA batteries are required for power supply. The electric fly swatter is charged from 220 V.”

Device diagram
One switch will be used as a spark gap - it will not need to be pressed. And the other is for switching.
What is needed for assembly?
— 3.7 V batteries — — Housing — — High voltage converter — — Two switches — — Super glue. - Hot glue.
Assembly
We take the case and drill holes for the switches. One from the bottom, the other from the top. Now we make the coil. We wind around the perimeter of the body. We fix the coils with hot glue. Each turn is separated from each other. The coil consists of 5 turns. We assemble everything according to the diagram, solder the elements. We insert an insulating gasket between the contacts of the high-voltage switch so that the spark is inside and not outside. We secure all the parts inside the case and close the case cover.
Safety requirements
Be especially careful - very high voltage! Perform all manipulations with the circuit only after turning off the power source. Do not use this electromagnetic shredder near medical equipment or other equipment on which human life may depend.
Is it possible to make a miracle fly swatter yourself?
Some home craftsmen disassemble a device that destroys insects using electrical discharges and try to create a similar homemade device from improvised materials. Parts from old TVs, power supplies, electrodes and other parts are used.
An inquisitive mind is a great thing, but in the case of an electric fly swatter, experimentation is inappropriate. They can end badly.
Some would-be experimenters try to give advice on how to make an electric fly swatter with your own hands. But at the end of the description of their experiments they always add: “Do not repeat this experiment! Potentially life threatening! A useful thing, although catching a lonely annoying fly is not so easy - you have to jump. You also need to be careful not to grab the fly swatter with wet hands, and during the fishing process it is better not to let anyone hang around nearby. Question. Is it safe to use a fly swatter for people with an implanted pacemaker?
I work in a cafe, and we have electric fly swatters hanging in our kitchen. This is: firstly, convenient (adhesive tapes are a thing of the last century, they spoil the entire appearance of the kitchen); secondly, it is hygienic. The probability that the corpses of dead insects will fall out of there is zero. I can’t imagine how craftsmen manage to make such things from improvised means, and why? The market offers a large selection to suit every taste and budget.
Everyone is familiar with a regular fly swatter, and especially with the stains it leaves on clean walls and ceilings. Sometimes because of this you don’t even want to touch those annoying insects. But finally, the Chinese thought of making a device for killing mosquitoes, where everything happens cleanly and efficiently - an electric fly swatter. The principle of operation is simple, you press and hold the button in the center of the handle, after which you just need to hit or simply touch the flying insect with the net. A discharge flashes with a bang, destroying flies, mosquitoes, wasps and other flying insects. An electric fly swatter looks like a regular tennis racket. Comfortable handle and a flashlight. There are AA batteries installed inside, a metal line in the form of a mesh is stretched, when you press a button, high voltage is applied to this network, move it with a racket - the insect is killed on the fly.
Types of devices
Industrially manufactured devices for killing mosquitoes and other harmful insects operate on the same principle. They lure parasites into a space from which they are no longer able to escape. Inside, the bloodsucker dies from electrical shock, poison, or dehydration.
On a note!
Mosquitoes are attracted to human body odor, light, warmth and water. This is precisely the basis for the action of various traps.
One or several mosquito lures can be used as bait in devices. Pests associate all of them with food or reproduction, so they strive to reach the trap.
The following types of electric mosquito killers and other bloodsuckers are available on the market:
- Devices with ultraviolet lamps. They attract insects with their light. Mosquitoes come into contact with a metal plate under high voltage and are killed by electric current. The traps are completely safe for humans and pets, as they do not emit any harmful odors and are aimed only at killing blood-sucking insects. To enhance the effect, the devices use safe attractants that imitate the odor of the human body. Consumer reviews posted on the website confirm the high efficiency of innovative technology.
- Special devices with a fan installed inside, like a vacuum cleaner, suck in mosquitoes, flies and other insects approaching the trap. The device attracts with the light of a lamp and a small amount of carbon dioxide, which reminds insects of the smell of human skin.
- A trap that releases carbon dioxide. The device is equipped with a lamp made using a special technology that emits carbon dioxide and simulates the heat emanating from all warm-blooded animals, including humans.
All devices operate on the principle of emitting light, generating heat and carbon dioxide, due to which mosquitoes mistake traps for living organisms. Models are equipped with a fine-mesh metal mesh that transmits electric current that is harmful to insects.
How the device works
The working area of the fly swatter is a three-layer mesh of energized metal wires. All you need to do is a few swings of the racket in the air. Depending on the model, an LED flashlight may be built into the handle, which can be used either as part of an electric fly swatter or separately. The principle of operation of the device is that when a flying insect hits the working surface of a metal grid, an electrical discharge occurs, sufficient to destroy the insect, but safe for humans.
The circuit may vary greatly depending on the manufacturer, but its essence does not change - as a high-voltage part of the converter, from 5-6 volt batteries to several thousand volts. Don’t let this figure scare you, the current there is small, just like that of an electric lighter, so it won’t cause any harm even if you accidentally touch the grid. In different models, power is supplied either from rechargeable batteries or from AA batteries. In the first case, the circuit contains a block of the simplest transformerless charger.
Original trap
Homemade mosquito traps The concept of the device is to attract mosquitoes with light, after which they are drawn by a fan into a gauze bag. An electric trap is accessible and easy to manufacture, but requires certain skills and basic knowledge of physics. The only drawback is that the device with a fan cannot be called absolutely silent and it runs on mains power.
You will need the following items:
- a cardboard juice box with a volume of 2 liters or more; in the absence of containers, you can make a cardboard box yourself;
- small light bulb or flashlight;
- gauze;
- wire;
- a small electric fan with a diameter of 10 cm, you can use a fan from a non-working computer.
Detailed instructions on how to make a mosquito trap:
- Cut off the top part of the tetra bag.
- Make 2 holes in the upper parts of the side walls and stretch wire or rope through them. The fastening element is ready.
- Attach the lamp socket to the handle (wire).
- Install a fan at the bottom of the bag so that the air flow is directed downwards from the light source.
- Attach a gauze bag to the fan body using an elastic band.
- Using adapters, connect the light bulb and fan to the network.
- Install the structure in the window opening.
The mosquito trap needs periodic cleaning to remove stuck insects.
cxema.org – Chinese fly swatter racket for $7
Chinese fly swatter racket for $7
A long time ago I saw such a racket in reviews from many European bloggers. The most amazing thing is that they always tried to remake it to build a homemade electric shock device, the meaning was not clear to me, because I myself prefer to make shockers from scratch.
The device itself is made in the form of a tennis racket, almost the same in size, but I don’t recommend playing tennis with such a thing because it was made for someone else. The mesh is the affected area, it is three-layered, there is one common contact to the side meshes, and a second contact to the mesh between them. These contacts (grids) are supplied with high voltage, which is generated by a built-in high-voltage voltage converter. The device is powered by an internal Ni-Cd battery (an obsolete type of battery, but being developed). The racket costs about 7 dollars, but the Chinese are great, they met this amount and made a really good device.
The racket consists of 4 main nodes
1) Built-in charger 2) Rechargeable battery 3) Conversion unit 4) Grid
Now let’s take a closer look at each of the blocks.
The charger is made according to a budget transformerless circuit with a ballast capacitor. Taking into account the capacity of the specified capacitor, the charge current is about 50mA, which is fully enough for safe charging. There is also a charge indicator (in fact, the charging process does not show, but only indicates the presence of mains voltage). The second indicator lights up when the device is working.
The charger does not heat up, you can safely leave it overnight, and the batteries will not be damaged due to the scanty charging current. The charger, like the rest of the filling, is built into the racket handle.
Battery – 2 AAA nickel-cadmium batteries. Banks of 1.2 Volts are connected in series, which means that the operating voltage of the converter is 2.4 Volts. I won’t judge the battery capacity, of course – it’s none here, 500 mAh maximum.
Converter Everything here is the old fashioned way - blocking generator, multiplier. The blocking generator is built on a low-power S8050 switch, plus a base 1 kOhm resistor. A voltage of about 800 Volts is generated from the transformer, then this voltage is supplied to the doubler, after which the increased voltage is accumulated in a 2kV 20nF film capacitor - this capacitor is the impact force of the racket, because all the anger of this capacitor goes to the grid.
The racket has a kind of fuse in the form of a switch. To operate, you need to put the switch in the ON position, then press the button and hold it while chasing flies.
Any flying creature touching the net will, at a minimum, fall to the floor and be paralyzed; at worst, it will get stuck in the net and burn alive. In general, we are happy with any outcome, the main thing is that the racket works.
The design solutions are well thought out; there is no need to spend extra money on replacing batteries; the built-in batteries will last a couple of years.
A couple of tips.
If you do not use the racket for a long time, be sure to store it in a charged state and recharge the battery once a month, at least for an hour or two. Don't put your fingers in the net! it will hurt. Keep away from children!

Electronics jammer
For the first time, the world saw a really working prototype of an electromagnetic weapon at the LIMA 2001 arms exhibition in Malaysia. An export version of the domestic “Ranets-E” complex was presented there. It is made on the MAZ-543 chassis, has a mass of about 5 tons, ensures guaranteed destruction of the electronics of a ground target, aircraft or guided munition at ranges of up to 14 kilometers and disruption of its operation at a distance of up to 40 km. Despite the fact that the firstborn created a real sensation in the world media, experts noted a number of its shortcomings. Firstly, the size of the effectively hit target does not exceed 30 meters in diameter, and secondly, the weapon is disposable - reloading takes more than 20 minutes, during which the miracle gun has already been shot from the air 15 times, and it can only work on targets in the open terrain, without the slightest visual obstacles. Perhaps for these reasons, the Americans abandoned the creation of such directed EMP weapons, concentrating on laser technologies. Our gunsmiths decided to try their luck and try to “bring to fruition” the technology of directed EMP radiation.
Other developments of NIIRP are also interesting. While studying the impact of powerful microwave radiation from the ground on air targets, specialists from these institutions unexpectedly received local plasma formations, which were obtained at the intersection of radiation flows from several sources. Upon contact with these formations, air targets underwent enormous dynamic overloads and were destroyed. The coordinated operation of microwave radiation sources made it possible to quickly change the focusing point, that is, to retarget at enormous speed or to accompany objects of almost any aerodynamic characteristics. Experiments have shown that the impact is effective even against ICBM warheads. In fact, these are not just microwave weapons, but combat plasmoids. Perhaps this is what prompted the Americans to create the HAARP (High Freguencu Active Auroral Research Program) complex in Alaska - a research project to study the ionosphere and auroras. Let us note that for some reason that peaceful project is funded by the Pentagon’s DARPA agency.
