There is another open project that allows you to create a small spy helicopter.

It is in English, made on a slightly different element base, but the principle is similar. Helicopters of this type have appeared recently, it has become possible Read more »

You don't have to be very smart to make a reconnaissance drone. You can use an open source project. Good German guys made such a helicopter and offer it to everyone who wants to replicate it. Moreover, all components can be purchased from them in the online store. Read completely "

The G1 homemade helicopter is one of the smallest and easiest to build homemade helicopters. It has the most simplified design, designed for one person, takes off and lands vertically, flies forward, backward, sideways and hangs. It can be stored anywhere, in the garage, at the dacha, in the apartment. Read completely "

The Adams-Wilson helicopter is without a doubt one of the best single-seat micro-helicopters, the most popular among homebuilders.

This development has been repeated many times by home-made people.

The helicopter does not have a swashplate. It is built according to a coaxial design without cyclic pitch control.

Control is achieved by changing the center of gravity, engine speed and a small rudder for heading control. In my opinion, it is possible to build such a helicopter using gears from the final drive of a Ural motorcycle and a suitable two-stroke engine with a power of about 15 hp. However, if the rotor diameter is increased, the power required can be reduced.

DIY assembly of a real helicopter

Previously, no one could imagine that a real helicopter could be assembled independently. This innovation first appeared in the West and has been for quite some time.

A KIT kit is a set of parts from which you can later assemble a real rotorcraft. In terms of cost, it will cost you the same as buying a new car.

Another good news was the adoption of a new law in Russia. Now, as in other civilized countries, it is enough to inform about your upcoming flight. Previously, it was necessary to submit an application and wait for permission. Nobody knew when it would come. Suddenly you no longer have the desire to fly, the weather has deteriorated or your plans have completely changed.

Assembling a Mosquito helicopter is not at all difficult. It comes with precise instructions. If you do everything in strict sequence, then after 200 hours of training you will be able to become a full-fledged owner of your own helicopter. But if you make a mistake, you risk your life.

Advantages and capabilities The advantages of this model include:

— ease of learning to manage; — affordable cost; — relatively high technical and flight characteristics; — reliability; — ease of operation; - versatility.

The Mosquito helicopter can reach speeds of up to 180 km/h. As for the price, for Russian buyers it starts at $65,000. This is a very good plus in favor of its availability. You can learn how to control it in just a few hours.

Unpretentiousness in maintenance and reliability give the rotorcraft a special appeal. Weighing 115 kg, this device has autorotation. It allows you to make a calm and safe landing even with the engine completely turned off.

Equipment and modifications There are several possible configurations of this helicopter. The KIT kit is a set of 5 boxes. In addition, they come with complete step-by-step instructions for assembling a homemade helicopter. You can choose any place for it. Even a minimally equipped garage or workshop will do. If you are still not confident in your abilities, then you should not take risks. Contact certified specialists who will quickly organize an assembled version for you.

Modifications of this model are also available:

— Air; - XE3; - XE; - XEL; —XET.

Additional accessories will allow you to easily make your personal helicopter individual and unique. Source of the article: www.heli-school.ru - you can become a pilot with us.

High-altitude helicopter - how to make a helicopter with a rubber motor | Peekaboo

About the kit: A 35th scale kit released in 2022 from the Japanese company Hasegawa, whose aircraft I already had a pleasant acquaintance with. The compact box contains 8 sprues, 4 vinyl tires, 4 polyurethane bushings, a roll of thin vinyl tube for making hoses, a bulky decal sheet and assembly instructions. It's immediately noticeable that the sprues with parts are molded from polystyrene in various colors: three each of dark gray and orange, one light gray and one transparent with glazing and headlights. This was obviously done so that even a completely unpainted model would look moderately realistic. I encountered the same technique on a model of the fifth-generation Chinese fighter Chengdu J-20 from Trumpeter. There are 189 parts on the sprues, and this number is misleading about the simplicity of the kit. The parts themselves are cast as a four-piece: here and there there are traces of pushers on relatively visible surfaces, I found a couple of sink marks, but not in critical places. There are no complaints about detail and fit. The model has a well-presented cabin interior, clearly visible through the extensive glazing. Also included is a figurine of a female operator, which gives the model some charm and charm. During assembly, the manufacturer does not give us any alternatives (except that we can leave the door open), so absolutely all the parts are used up - perhaps for the first time in my modeling career. The transparent parts are not very thin, but are transparent and without distortion. I was pleased with the vinyl hoses: they are pleasant to work with, they look realistic, and besides, the kit includes at least a meter of tube, when a loader will require 15 cm (profit!). The assembly instructions are somewhat overloaded due to the dense layout, but in general they are understandable; the first page contains a minimum of information about the prototype. The instructions for painting and marking are excellent - the loader is shown from all the necessary angles, in color, plus photos of the assembled and painted reference model are included. However, you should not hope that the model can be assembled first and then painted - the design will not allow this. Well, unless you are Japanese and have the superpower to paint absolutely everything, including the interior, after assembly. A nice feature of the model: the mobility of the boom with a bucket, the front rotating module and rotating wheels. The moving units and joints are made very thoughtfully, using polyurethane bushings and sealing rings, so the finished model has no backlash and “maintains its pose.” The decals are done very well, they are bright and not thick. Hasegawa suggests that we use decals to cover the cockpit. This solution has both positive aspects - you won’t have to invent masks of a rather complex shape, and negative ones - you will have to work with openwork, but large-sized decals, which are easily torn when fitting, and are also slightly oversized, so they do not fit perfectly. In general, due to the peculiarities of the painting, for me personally the process of creating the model was difficult, comparable to working on a tank with a full interior, or even a sailboat. Perhaps the lack of experience had an effect (the work is significantly different from working with BTT). In conclusion, I can definitely recommend the set to connoisseurs of models of similar equipment (I know there are many of them) and, perhaps, to 35th scale tank builders who want to diversify their collection. The kit is not that expensive, but not cheap either; for a good result you will need at least an average level of modeler skills.

About the creation: The model was assembled using superfluid and regular model glue using cyanoacrylate gel for some vinyl parts. To process the parts I used manicure files, polishing pad 600/3000 (thanks to the ladies and their nail industry for the lotions useful to modellers), as well as a router with various attachments. Assembly alternated with painting and applying decals: individual components were assembled, painted, aged, and then assembled into a finished module. Painting mainly with airbrush with enamels and acrylics from Mr.Color and acrylics from Vallejo. First, the cabin interior is prepared.

Homemade helicopter from a snowmobile

We must pay tribute to the inventor - he created a working structure from scrap materials. Such inventors should be united in a design bureau to revive small aircraft. The helicopter was manufactured in 1979 in the city of Cherkassy. The entire structure is homemade, except for the engine. Parts from different techniques, wooden screw. Engine from the snowmobile “Buran”. Flies at speeds of up to 150 km per hour. It was tested at an altitude of 8-10 meters, but theoretically it can fly higher.
