33 patterns of clothes and shoes for the Paola Reina doll + review of the Paola Reina doll + ideas for inspiration.

Hello girls! Today I want to write an article about Spanish Paola Reina

(hereinafter referred to as Paola Reina or simply Paola, it is more convenient to write in Russian).

Many fell in love with these different national beauties made in Spain, and of course I couldn’t resist them and ordered a long-haired Paolochka for my daughter and me. Our doll's name is Marianna (Marianna is my name and my daughter's together, Maria and Anna)

To my happiness, Paola is sold without clothes, she comes in only panties (everything is so decent).

Why fortunately, yes, because these are limitless ideas for creativity and inspiration for me.

For the Paola Reina doll, you can sew outfits with your own hands, and the goal of today’s article is to collect all kinds of patterns so that they are always at hand and you can sew new clothes at any time.

There are those who do not understand such a hobby, but I think they will not even read this article, and creative people do not need to explain anything, because everything has long been said for us -

Although I will still write a few words on my own: In addition to the joy that the creative process and, of course, the finished result brings, creativity is also very useful because it develops creative thinking, logic, and fine motor skills. Well, that’s not all: you can earn money with creativity, decorate everything around you and give gifts to others. In general, we could go on and on about the valuable benefits of creativity, but that’s not what we’re talking about today, this is just a slight digression from the topic.

But returning to our topic, I would like to write a short review about Paola Reina dolls. This is for those who are just interested in this doll; for everyone else, you can scroll below and not read this paragraph.

Review of the Paola Reina doll.

There were no such dolls when I was a child! As children, my sister and I really loved playing with dolls and we had quite a lot of them, so I have something to compare with. I really liked Paola’s appearance, long and fluffy eyelashes, eyes that looked like real ones, velvety skin pleasant to the touch. In my opinion, the optimal size of the doll is 32 -33 cm. Not big and not very small. About the hair, I want to say that the structure of different dolls is different, the black ones are rough, but I took the one with long brown hair and it is very soft, like silk. The only thing is that probably all dolls turn out to be of different lengths, but this is all understandable. Initially, the length of the hair is taken the same, but when they are sewn on, they turn out at different levels, because the location of the back of the head, temples, bangs is different, so the length turns out to be different, but in my opinion this is not a critical drawback and besides, it can always be corrected if you trim your hair. But the hair is very thick and the doll will definitely never remain bald. The only significant drawback for me is that my doll doesn’t stand well, of course it can be placed, but sometimes you need to put in so much effort to do it. This is of course a big minus for photography. But we will learn how to get out of it. Paolok still has much more advantages. And finally, I’ll write about one more advantage that all Paolkas have - this is that they smell very pleasant, like vanilla).

✄ Dimensions of the Paola Reina doll

First you need to decide on the size of the doll.

I found a picture on the Internet with dimensions, but I want to say right away that they are approximate, because mine are similar, but at the same time different from both options. Below I will write my approximate sizes.

My doll's dimensions:

-Doll height 33.7 cm; -Head circumference 22.5 cm; -Chest circumference 15.5 cm; -Waist circumference 13.6; -Hip circumference 17.6; -Arm length 9.5; -Leg length 15.8

In general, we have decided on the sizes, now we can move on to patterns.

How to use patterns?

The patterns can be printed, or you can redraw them by enlarging the picture to the desired size and attaching a sheet of white paper or tracing paper to the monitor screen.

Important: Don't forget about seam allowances!

Doll suit

A characteristic feature of a big-legged doll is its original, sometimes downright luxurious outfit. The materials used for this are very different: from linen and cotton to felt and gabardine, including velor, corduroy and, of course, soft fluffy fleece. Pieces of coat and trouser fabrics and thick knitwear are used for the outerwear of the toy. All this is complemented by braid, beautiful ribbons, lace or decorative mesh.

The doll's outfit is decorated with embroidery and artificial flowers. The shades of fabrics can be arbitrary, up to the brightest.

I ended up with a blouse like this, I just made the sleeve shorter and sewed a tulle frill on top. This is all I have managed to sew on it so far.

Who invented it?

Dolls with big feet were born thanks to Russian designer Tatyana Konne. The works of the talented master have been repeatedly exhibited in our country. The Snow Girl (Snowball doll) is a truly successful find and has already become a personal brand.

She should not be confused with Tilda. Snezhka has a number of characteristic features by which this doll can be immediately distinguished. The most important of them is the legs, which are large relative to other parts of the body. This is where the original name came from. The Snowball doll, the photo of which is given below, is a prime example of this. Notice her big, stable feet.

Fabric for clothing

Clothes for the Big Legs doll are made from a wide variety of fabrics. The choice largely depends on what kind of item you are sewing. But there are still a number of certain principles:

  • Do not use a pattern that is too large. Any drawing should look natural and fit into the proportions of the doll.
  • Avoid fabrics that are too thick. The jacket can be made from thin leatherette without lining. Felt or velor is suitable for a coat.
  • You can dress the doll in knitted clothes, but the yarn should not be too thick.

Follow these principles, use the right color combinations, and your dolls will be second to none.

Choosing hair

The Big Legs doll loves beautiful hairstyles. There are several options for making hair. The simplest one is regular yarn. The presence of a large number of colors and textures gives room to the imagination. The doll can be curly, shaggy, or with a classic ponytail.

Professionals often use artificial hair. Specialized stores have a huge selection of hair specifically for dolls. If you can't find them, use tresses or wigs for people. You can also find ready-made doll hairstyles on sale; all you have to do is glue them to your head.

For a small doll, you can use natural wool for felting. You get a very cute fluff on your head. Dolls' hair can be made from satin ribbons, loosening them.

Snowballs

Dolls with disproportionately large legs are called Big Legs or Snowballs. The Snowballs got their name from their legs, which look like big Bigfoot feet. This is the main difference from other dolls. All other parts of the body are proportional. Only the eyes are depicted on the face - beads. Shoes are varied and required. These could be shoes, boots, even flip-flops. The sole is made from cardboard. The doll must stand on its own. And the last characteristic detail is long beautiful hair. These dolls are so adorable that they are successfully conquering the doll toy market.

Look at how lovingly the clothes are sewn, knitted, and the shoes are made. And what gorgeous hairstyles! Can you buy such beauty in a store? We will tell you further how to sew such dolls using a standard pattern. For now, just admire these masterpieces.

And it’s just done by amateurs, not professionals. Is it true that you want to quickly pick up a needle and create the same miracle yourself? But many of these dolls are made by the hands of inexperienced, novice craftswomen.

Cloth

It is not difficult to sew clothes for the Big Legs doll; patterns are often included with the main doll pattern. These cute toys are true fashionistas. Their clothes are in many ways similar to human ones, only the cut is changed to suit their figure. If you know how to sew, proceed as usual. Take measurements from the small model and get to work.

Dresses, sundresses, trousers, trousers, coats, a doll can be dressed in anything. Don't forget to pay attention to the little details. Cute lace for the trim of a sundress is perfect. Scarves, stockings and other little things are also important. There is a huge variety of hats.

Delightful dolls are obtained in historical outfits, or beauties from the outback. Vintage style really suits big legs. They look amazing in lace dresses in pastel shades.
