I attached a white thread to the wrong side and knitted it where single crochets were possible, so that they were not visible from the front side. It turned out 4 RLS, 2 ch. and so on. Then I knitted several rows like a fillet mesh. The result was a lining.

Today I will show you what amazing summer sundresses for Paola Reina dolls can be made using Olga Shulyatetskaya’s pattern. Olga has her own very large group on VK - “Olga Shulyatetskaya’s Creative Workshop”; in addition, Olga makes and sells doll shoe lasts. Olga recently wrote a small free master class on sewing a simple sundress for paolka dolls; patterns are included with the master class. In the article I will show you what I managed to sew using these patterns and share my impressions.
The first photo is of all four of my sundresses, they are sewn exactly the same using the same pattern, only differing in small details. From left to right: Klepa with ponytails (naked, new from Paola Reina 2018), Dasha Malinka (I have a doll in pajamas, new from 2019), Claudia (this particular doll was released at the end of 2018), Nora Christie (new naked from 2022 year from Ukraine). All my models are on the latest type of bodies (after 2022).
The author of the sundress pattern, Olga Shulyatetskaya, wrote that the sundress is suitable for any body type of Paola Reina dolls, and it is, but I prefer the fit according to the body shape of the 2022 model, it seems to me that this sundress is simply created for dolls on the newest bodies.
The first sundress for Dasha-Malinka, the design on the fabric suits her hair very well. I wanted to sew the same lace on the bodice as on the hem of the skirt, but I don’t have any left, I’ll visit the store, maybe I’ll get lucky and they haven’t sold out everything yet. For this sundress, I made the skirt a little shorter than the author of MK recommends.
The sandals are knitted according to Oksana Lifenko’s pattern “The Captain’s Daughter”. I got a very successful Dasha Malinka with colored hair, someday I will show her in more detail and tell you what I liked most about her, but for now there is only one portrait photo, the doll is very beautiful and bright.
The second sarafan is shown by Cleopatra, who is usually called the squirrel. Here I have everything exactly according to the master class. And very fortunately, I found Chinese star-shaped buttons at home; they are clearly visible in the portrait photo.
Sandals are my creation based on the sole design that Oksana Lifenko came up with.
The third model for Nora-Christie, this doll has just appeared in Russia, I already had a review article about it on my website. The sundress is also exactly according to MK, but I haven’t yet chosen the appropriate decor for the bodice.
The hat was knitted as part of Oksana Lifenko’s free spring joint venture; it turned out to be so versatile that it goes with many outfits.
And the last of the sewn sundresses is demonstrated by the Claudia Paola Reina doll. Here, on the contrary, I lengthened the skirt a little.
I already had Claudia on my body from 2015-2017, I bought her as soon as the naked dolls with long hair came out, but those old releases had hair with a slightly greenish tint, I wanted a doll with a different shade of hair. And the hat is knitted according to Oksana Lifenko’s pattern “Birch”.
I have never bought master classes on sewing or patterns, and on knitting I only buy MK by Oksana Lifenko, because this is my favorite author, but after a positive experience with sewing a sundress, I’m thinking about buying patterns. I looked at Olga Shulyatetskaya’s group; among her products, she has very tempting albums with patterns for Paola Reina dolls on sale. I don’t remember if Olga has discounts for any holidays, but now if they do, I definitely won’t miss it and I’ll definitely buy at least one magazine with patterns.
Olga Shulyatetskaya’s free sundress pattern is simply excellent. Although the MK is short, all the main points are described and shown in the photo. I especially liked the technical solution with the final fastening of the straps, this allows you to achieve a perfect fit in the shoulder area. Previously, I tried to avoid models where it was necessary to topstitch, because I don’t really know how to sew, and my decorative stitches turned out ugly. But I got better at making these sundresses, and now it seems to be much smoother and neater.
If anyone else has not sewn such a saraf for their dolls, I highly recommend taking it up. A great all-rounder and easy to sew.
