DIY hat: for a boy and a girl in kindergarten. Photos of the best ideas, diagrams and templates + instructions on how to make

In gardens and schools, invariably, with the onset of the first cold weather, the Autumn Festival is held, designed to thank nature for its wonderful gifts and unsurpassed beauty. Dresses, performances, poetry readings and, of course, an exhibition with crafts made from natural materials are being prepared for this day. Here you can see a variety of animals made from cones and chestnuts, bouquets of leaves, autumn houses, panels and much more. An original exhibit of such an exhibition could be an autumn craft hat, which can simultaneously perform several functions: serve as an interior decoration, be a headdress for Autumn or for a child participating in a themed dance. Many kindergartens even hold fashion shows and competitions with the participation of such hats.

Materials for creative work

Today it is customary to create homemade hats from paper, cardboard or fabric, depending on the skills and experience of the master.

To work, you will need to prepare a workplace, including a table, lighting and the following set of materials:

  1. Thick cardboard and colored paper. For individual performances or creative exhibitions, you can use illustrated paper and foil.
  2. If you plan to work on sewing doll clothes, it is better to prepare fabrics (felt, guipure, satin) in advance.
  3. To decorate finished crafts, you can use satin ribbons, a veil or any mesh fabric, bows or flowers made of corrugated paper.
  4. Hats for boys can be decorated with paper fringe, ribbon or border (for example, a pirate model); brooches, cockades, and other insignia can be placed on the cap.
  5. For most types of work, you need scissors or a sharp stationery knife, glue, thread and a needle.
  6. For textile crafts, it is better to prepare patterns or templates according to which the main parts will be cut out.

For inexperienced craftsmen, it is better to familiarize yourself with video lessons on preparing parts, as well as the final assembly of the craft. Detailed instructions for making fashion accessories or decorative elements will come in handy.

Lesson number 5. Crochet hat

This idea will be good, especially if you already know how to knit. You can make a hat this way if you refer to the image of any lesson. This is a good idea. Many people want to stand out from the crowd.

Such a knitted hat will be very good for summer, especially if you combine it with knitted handbags or gloves.

  1. Take a hook and thread. The yarn should be quite thick.
  2. First, a ring of 4 loops is knitted. Then we knit 6 single crochets.
  3. Then there is knitting in a spiral. In the 2nd row there should be a doubling of loops, in the 3rd row - 1 and 2 loops in each loop of the previous row. In the 4th row you can make 3 loops in each previous loop (of the previous row).
  4. This way the upper part of the hat is knitted in the form of a circle. It is necessary to determine in advance how many centimeters the diameter will be (according to the size of the head).
  5. Next, a rectangle is knitted, which must be knitted without doubling the loops, forming a height (crown). It is knitted simply, repeating the stitches of the previous row.
  6. To make the brim of the hat, you need to continue knitting what started out as a crown, adding loops.

The hat is ready! It will be very useful by summer.

There is a large selection of master classes on the Internet. A good hat can be made of any type: for dolls, sombrero, children's, cowboy, and so on. Patterns may vary. The main thing is that it turns out neat and does not fall into pieces.

DIY top hat

For a hussar costume (in kindergartens), it is often necessary to make a hat in the shape of a cylinder. This model, despite its complex shape, does not present any particular difficulties.

To work you will need a compass, a sheet of cardboard of sufficient size, glue, templates, textiles and ribbon for decoration.

Sometimes a large feather and a bright buckle are used instead of a ribbon. Instructions on how to make a paper hat with your own hands:

  1. On a prepared sheet of cardboard, draw a circle with a compass. The diameter of the circle should correspond to the size of the hat (basic size).
  2. A second circle is drawn around the first figure, which should have a larger diameter. This part is a blank for the bottom of the future hat.
  3. On the second sheet of cardboard, the pattern is repeated, but a third circle is added in the center.
  4. The first blank is cut out with scissors, and then the surface from the first ring to the second is cut in the form of wide strips. Set the part aside until final assembly.
  5. Next, continue working with the second sheet of cardboard. Cut out the drawn part according to the outlines of the outer circle. Then the central figure is cut out, thus obtaining the brim of the hat. For subsequent fixation, it is necessary to cut a section of cardboard in the form of strips or fringes.
  6. The walls of the cylinder are rolled up from the third sheet of cardboard, fixing the free edges with glue.
  7. The very first circle is glued to the top of the resulting cylinder, using paper strips for fastening.
  8. The second ring is “put on” the cylinder, and then fixed to the base using strips of paper.

For the simplest model, it will be enough to paint the craft in bright colors. To bring a more complex idea to life, you will need to cover the walls of the cylinder and the brim of the hat with textiles, on top of which a feather or edging in the form of a satin ribbon is attached.

Lesson number 4. Hat for an adult

You need to take a cardboard box, a brush with paints, a compass, scissors, and tape.

  1. The box is disassembled. A circle is drawn with a compass on one of the square or rectangular parts. You need to cut the material along it. This will be the first round.
  2. A rectangle is cut out of the box, bent, and bent around the circumference of a small circle (for the head).
  3. The middle is cut out from the first circle. It will form the height of the hat.
  4. The parts are held together with tape.
  5. The resulting headdress can be painted in any color using paints, or you can use spray paints from a spray can.
  6. This hat can also be decorated with various decorative details.

Pirate hat

For children's matinees or New Year's parties in kindergarten, a pirate hat is often required.

For such themed celebrations, there is no point in purchasing a new accessory; just arm yourself with scissors, glue and black cardboard.

As an additional decor, you can use a golden edging and a skull design (you can find ready-made stickers in stores).

Step-by-step making of crafts:

  1. First of all, draw a perfectly even circle on a sheet of cardboard (black).
  2. Cut the workpiece with scissors.
  3. The edges of the circle are brought together upward to form the outline of a triangle.
  4. The free edges are securely fixed with glue.
  5. Feathers are cut out of paper or real feathers are attached for decoration.
  6. A skull and crossbones are drawn on the hat itself, or ready-made thematic stickers are used.

As a final step, an elastic band is laid along the base of the craft, which will hold the hat on the young pirate’s head.

Lesson number 1. A simple hat - cap

A headdress can only be made if there are materials for it. For one of them you need: a leaf from an album (2 pieces), accuracy and patience.

  1. You need to place one sheet on a flat surface and cover it with a second leaf on top. The sheets must be in a horizontal position.
  2. You need to bend the top edges of the sheets approximately 2.5 centimeters.
  3. Then we bend the upper corners of the leaves so that their edges touch in the middle. This is done in the same way as when folding a paper airplane.
  4. You need to fold up the bottom strip on the top sheet.
  5. The corners of the strip need to be folded and secured.
  6. The same needs to be done with the bottom leaf.
  7. All that remains is to smooth out the resulting hat.
  8. If the edges of the cap are sufficiently well secured, then the headdress will be durable and will not fall apart for quite a long time.

A paper cap is an excellent way, for example, to protect your head from dirt and dust during repairs. The cap in this case is part of the clothing.

Accessories for dolls and toys

Another fun creative challenge is making clothes for dolls. Original ideas and templates for paper hats can always be found in the public domain.

Also, some models can be made from various types of textiles.

  1. You can use plastic cups, yogurt lids, and many other available materials as a rigid frame.
  2. The selected frame is cut to give the desired shape.
  3. Then a fabric is glued to the degreased surface or a small cover is sewn.
  4. You can decorate such models with feathers, a guipure veil, or a beautiful beaded brooch.
  5. Doll clothes can be made from ordinary colored paper, for example, using the origami technique.

In the photo of similar paper hats you can see how many models a craftsman can make with his own hands.

You will learn how to make a hat from leaves by studying the master class presented below.

Excellent options are obtained by knitting and crocheting.

Types of hats

At the peak of popularity today is the fedora hat. This is a soft felt hat with a wide brim that goes well with a coat and dress, sunglasses, and adds elegance even to girls in jeans! Sewing such a model yourself is as easy as shelling pears.

Carnival hats

Carnival, party, happening, flash mob, corporate evening or Halloween are days when you can have a lot of fun and surprise everyone with your unusual look.

A carnival classic is the witch's hat with a huge brim and a high, pointed crown. Take cardboard or a frame onto which you stretch black fabric with a veil - the image of the witch is ready! You can also dress up as a fairy or dryad by decorating your regular hat with artificial leaves, flowers, fruits or other natural symbols.

What about the male gender? The image of the dashing Jack Sparrow, the famous pirate captain from Hollywood films, is now popular. In this case everything is simple. Jack's typical headdress is a bandana with beads, to which various intricate "amulets" made of pebbles and "gems" can be sewn or fastened.

Another option is the cocked hat of a 17th century pirate. Fold the plastic cardboard accordingly, fasten the margins with a stapler or needle and thread, glue on a feather or brooch - in front of you is a detail of the toilet of not only a pirate, but also Baron Munchausen

Don't forget also about papier-mâché animal masks and Venetian images!

Children's hats

If you have a child (especially if there is more than one), then every parent may face the following situation: an original carnival costume for a matinee is urgently needed! And the parents are in a panic, because often they don’t have extra money set aside for such one-time new clothes, but they still need a suit. And your baby will be sad if his friends in the kindergarten group or classmates come in bright and cheerful costumes, and he alone will be deprived of this pleasure. Don't be discouraged if your child's wishes go beyond the range of stores and your budget.

In any case, the most original costume will only be homemade. And the highlight will be, of course, the hat!

Does your son want to be a hussar or a musketeer? The main “trick” of the image of a fencer-musketeer, of course, is an elegant hat with a feather and curved brim. It can be made from a piece of felt, cardboard or papier-mâché.

Feather - artificial or natural, which is found in the house. It can be painted in an unusual color to match the costume - a musketeer's cape. And for a hussar, you can build a simple and comfortable shako with a visor made of cardboard, covered with fabric. Don’t forget to attach “regalia” to the hussar’s hat - a twisted braid with a tassel, a plait with fur imitating a sultan. The little hussar will hit the girls at the ball in the heart!

For a girl, there are many more options - from the crown of a little princess or a fairy-tale princess to a witch in a huge wide-brimmed hat.

Wedding or evening headwear

Wedding celebrations are the day when the bride receives maximum attention. Only the sparkle of loving eyes and good taste can make a newlywed the most beautiful and elegant in the world, but an additional factor can be an unusual hat!

The modern bride prefers small, compact, symbolic hats that give the impression of a hairpin or brooch. This format is convenient in its miniature size and perfectly highlights the makeup, dress, and beauty of the bride herself. Making such a miniature hairpin hat is very easy. Make a small analogue of a small hat from cardboard, cover it with white fabric, add beads, pearls, rhinestones or artificial (or even natural!) flowers. This will be a unique piece!

For an evening celebration, to the theatre, or opera, you can wear a pillbox hat. This is a simple and very beautiful option that goes well with an evening dress or suit.

Men's hats

A classic Stetson on your head, an umbrella-cane and a tweed suit - and a real movie hero leads you by the arm. To make your own Stetson, you will have to master working with felt, but there are always analogues that will be useful to your friend, husband or boyfriend.

A sophisticated and sophisticated top hat, handcrafted from quality materials, makes a very inspiring gift for a spouse, lover, friend or colleague. Indeed, is it possible to find a similar gift so simply and easily somewhere else? This is a real return to the 19th century, which would be appropriate at a classical ball, in the theater, at a masquerade, and some wear such hats every day - for example, supporters of the steampunk style.

Panama hats

Summer season, vacation or heat is covering the city - in all these cases a nice Panama hat is definitely required. It will protect against harmful ultraviolet rays and help prevent dry hair (which, among other things, fades in the sun). A Panama hat can be made from straw or knitted or crocheted. Sewing from fabric is possible from leftovers from other products. Let's say you have cut out a new sundress for yourself for the summer, but the fabric remains. Make a scarf, Panama hat or bandana out of it - and the whole set is ready.
