But do not overtighten so that the elastic does not wrinkle. Keep doing this until you run out of elastic.
4. Cut the black dress down the center lengthwise. At the waist, sew and make a triangle cut up to this point.

5. Stick on the shell. This time I decided to experiment with adhesive vinyl. For the wings, I found iridescent vinyl that changes colors to green, yellow, orange (orange is my daughter's favorite color).

For boy

To make a firefly costume for a boy, you can use a simpler method (compared to the one described above). What do you need:

• Pants, hat, gloves and turtleneck or black shirt.
• Black chenille wire.
• Two leather belts.
• Large cardboard box.
• Paints.
• Scissors.
• Wire.
• Yellow light fabric (you can use yellow-dyed nylon tights).
• Threads.
• Glue "Moment"
• Small glowing flashlights that work without an outlet, or glow sticks.
• Face paint.

Progress:

1. Draw wings on cardboard and cut them out. Color it black. Let dry thoroughly.
2. While the wings are drying, use chenille wire to make the desired shape of the antennae, and twist the ends into balls. Sew or glue them to the hat.
3. If the wings are already dry, outline them with yellow paint.
4. Make a hole in the cardboard for the belt. With the help of it the wings will be attached to the back. Place the belt through the hole and each time you assemble the Firefly costume, fasten the belt behind your back.
5. Using wire, create the shape of the back of the firefly, attach the glowing element of your choice and wrap it in fabric.
6. Insert the second belt into your pants through the front and side loops only. Attach the last element made to the back.
7. Draw black circles around the eyes.

To make such an elegant and discreet veil, you must have:

• Glue.
• Hair hoop or headband.
• An ordinary candle.
• Decorative jewelry (flowers, beads, feathers, rhinestones, sequins, ribbons).
• A small piece of fabric (60x45).
• Pins.
• Satin ribbon (70 cm).

Stages of work:

1. Using neat stitches, you need to slightly gather the upper edge of the veil (the craftswoman should focus on the length of the hoop used). Once again we sew the previously processed edge with a sewing stitch to securely fix all the folds.
2. Now you need to take a satin ribbon and glue it to the rim along the center line. The width of the tape used should be sufficient to wrap the entire hoop. It is important not to overdo it with the application of glue, which is why it is better to make point movements.
3. We fix the processed edge of the veil with pins to the hoop, departing 4 cm from its ends. During such manipulations, excess veil will appear, which must be wrapped in two symmetrical folds.
4. After making sure that the fabric is distributed as evenly as possible, we baste it to the hoop and remove all the pins. Be sure to connect everything and glue the edges of the satin ribbon (the headband itself and the edge of the veil must remain inside). For reliability, a hoop decorated with ribbon can be stitched with regular threads.
