Among Us was developed back in 2022. And for two whole years no one really played it. However, in recent months, more and more videos with simple and interesting gameplay have appeared on YouTube, which has led this game to the popularity of today. In the wake of the fashion trend, the application received the highest rating from users and more than 100 million downloads on Google Play.
You can play Among Us both on a smartphone running Android and iOS, and on a computer. This is a shareware game. You can install it on your smartphone for free, but you can buy paid products inside the game. And before installing it on your computer, you will need to pay a symbolic amount. The PC version also allows for in-game purchases.
In this article we will look at creating a pet in Among As. We will talk about paid and free methods for smartphones and computers.
Why do we need pets BDO
BDO pets, unlike some MMORPGs, even in 2022 or 2021 look quite logical. Basically, these are different animals and birds, both domestic and wild. When summoned, they follow your characters everywhere. Their main task is to collect loot that drops from mobs during grinding. They also provide certain buffs and perform some other functions that depend on their type. More details about this in the corresponding paragraph.
BDO pets are account-wide, so any of your characters can summon them. Unlike a fairy, which only you can see, with the appropriate settings, your pets can be seen by other players, just as you can see their animals.
You can summon no more than 5 pets at the same time. All the rest, being hidden, are displayed in any of your houses, including for other players, if someone comes to visit.
Beetles
At home you can keep rhinoceros beetle, goliath, and other species. The conditions for them are approximately the same. The dimensions of the terrarium or insectarium should be at least 50x50 cm, at the bottom there should be a layer of litter about 4 cm, and pieces of wood, driftwood should be placed on it, or a rather thick branch should be installed vertically, along which the beetles can move. For such insects, room temperature and moderate humidity are suitable.
The specifics of the menu need to be clarified in each specific case, but most beetles can be fed with fruits, vegetables, leaves and plant juice.
Types and ranks of pets
Depending on the type, all BDO pets are divided into several categories:
- Classic - the most common. Always available in the play store.
- Limited - limited edition. They appear on sale periodically.
- Event - issued in honor of an event, including a one-time event.
There are 4 pet quality ranks in the game - gray (all new BDO pets that are just received), green, blue and gold (obtained after crossing). The rank determines the speed of collecting pets. For example, a blue pet of level 10 collects drops from a mob every 3 seconds, and a gold pet of the same level collects drops from a mob every 2.5 seconds.
Depending on the species, each pet has a specialty:
- Search for enemies. Detects members of the enemy clan if you have a guild war, players with negative karma, including in the safe zone, and players with activated PVP mode in the unsafe zone. Places a red marker on such a character.
- Search for a rare monster. Marks elite mobs. The marker is displayed on the world map, including where navigation does not work. Can be used for orientation in the ocean if you don't have a compass.
- Search for resources. Places a marker on resources depending on which collection tool is equipped on the character. If there is no tool, it marks grass that can be collected by hand.
- Speeding up the truck. Useful for fishermen's AFK, but only one such buff is active at a time.
- Provoking monsters. Agrit the mob closest to him.
- Increased resistance to desert effects. At the time of writing, a useless skill, since desert debuffs are temporarily (or not?) disabled by the Black Desert developers.
- Increase in quantity when collected. Duplicates drop cells, each of which can contain several resource units. Only applies to the thief during collection and does not affect loot that drops from mobs. The only pet in BDO - the Hedgehog - has this talent. This Limited beast is not always available for sale.

Glue the red fabric at a short distance, a little more than ¼ of a circle, onto the disk.

Fish
Here you will need 2 disks, colored paper and ready-made large eyes.
Using the template, we cut out the mouth of the fish, the upper large fin, the lower one - small, and the tail.
We glue all the listed parts into place between 2 disks.
We fold a sheet of colored paper like an accordion and insert it into the central hole of the disk - these are the side fins.
All that remains is to glue the eyes between above the mouth. The fish is ready!

Pet Skills
The number of pet skills depends on the rank - from 1 for gray to 4 for gold. Skills are certain buffs that affect the character while the pet is summoned. The first of these buffs is active and often unique to each type. For example, this could be reducing equipment wear, increasing your character's maximum carry weight, or increasing the chance of gaining high-rank knowledge.
The remaining skills are activated when BDO pets level up and are unlocked randomly. One of the most interesting skills, in my opinion, is increasing combat experience by 5%. If you have 5 of these pets, which gives a total of 25% to combat experience, this speeds up your character leveling by a quarter.
Mantises
The praying mantis is a predatory insect. Many people know that the female praying mantis eats the male after mating. However, this is not entirely true; with a large amount of food, the male is not in danger.
The temperature in the insectarium should be room temperature, +23-25 °C. To maintain humidity, you need to lightly spray the terrarium with clean, settled water 1-2 times a day. You cannot place the container with the praying mantis in direct sunlight, but the place must be sufficiently lit.
The minimum size of an insectarium or terrarium for a praying mantis is 20x20x20 cm. It is recommended to use crushed dry leaves of birch and oak as soil; coconut substrate is also suitable.
Mantises need to be fed with live food: flies, crickets, cockroaches, beetles. It must be purchased at a pet store. Insects from the street can be infected with bacteria, fungi or mites, which are deadly to praying mantises.
How to Rank Up: Pet Crossing
The game has an exchange function - BDO pets of a lower grade are exchanged for one of a higher grade - naturally, with a certain chance. I categorically do not advise trying to breed a blue and especially a gold pet if the chances are below 100. VKR sometimes gets fierce, and if the exchange is unsuccessful, one pet will remain with the original rank, and the rest will simply disappear. If the exchange is successful, the “consumables” also disappear, but at least the rank increases. For example, for a 100% chance of getting a gold pet, you need 4 pets of blue rarity. The pet level no longer affects the increase in the chance of getting a rarer pet.
Before crossing pets, keep in mind that you can only exchange pets of the same category - Classic for Classic, Event for Event, and Limited for Limited. The only exception is the Ghost, which has no category. He can be crossed with any of your pets. The Ghost cannot rank up and is always used as a consumable.
Also, a pet of a higher rank can be merged into a lower one to obtain the necessary skills and specialization. Let's look at an example of how to raise your rank without messing up the necessary parameters.
For example, we have a blue hedgehog (remember, the only pet that increases the drop when collected) and a golden falcon with a +5% buff on combat experience and other useful goodies. We need a golden pet that will increase the drop and give a combat experience buff. In the exchange window, when choosing an appearance, we select a hedgehog (it is the appearance that determines the pet’s specialization), and when choosing a skill, we take buffs from the falcon.
If you do not choose inheritable skills when crossing, then random ones will open, the number of which depends on the rank. This trick can be used to reroll skills that you are not happy with. There is also some chance of increasing the pet's rank. If you do not inherit the appearance, a random pet will drop, but only of the type that was used for the exchange, with a specialization corresponding to the appearance.
In a separate paragraph, I remind you once again: you should not crossbreed pets if the chance of a rank upgrade is below 100%!
Origami pig

Leveling up pets and feeding them
BDO pets collect loot only when they are full, that is, the scale is filled above zero. If it drops to zero, the pets will stop collecting loot, but the buffs from them will still work. When feeding, the pet's level increases if it is below the maximum, that is, 10. There are no other ways to level up.
To restore the satiety scale, special food is used. The cheapest one is sold in any groom's store. Since right-clicking in the inventory takes too long, I advise you to bind the food to the hotbar - pressing the corresponding button speeds up the process.
You can cook good food yourself on the stove at home, for which you need a cooking level of student 1 or higher. Ingredients:
- Meat - 6 pcs. (pork, beef, lamb, venison, bear meat), ferret, fox, wolf, raccoon, goat or gazelle meat). Can be obtained by skinning the carcass of a killed animal with a cleaver.
- Flour - 4 pcs. (wheat, barley from corn, potatoes, or sweet potatoes). Can be obtained by grinding appropriate plants in the processing menu.
- Water for cooking - 3 pcs. Sold by NPCs - cooks or innkeepers. Can be replaced with 1 purified water, which is obtained by sifting fresh water collected in a bottle in a pond.
- Fish - 1 pc. Anyone who doesn't mind will do. 1 fresh fish can be replaced with 2 dried ones.
Wolf Asterios
We can talk about the wolf for a long time, but the following classes playing solo without a wolf simply will not be able to get above level 70

How to get a pet in BDO
All players periodically receive free pets. The first one is given in the newbie calendar a few days after registering in Black Desert, if you log into the game every day. You will receive the following pets for completing the story in the regions:
- Balenos - dog;
- Calpheon - falcon;
- Media is a cat.
You will receive the fox when you close the Devi Encyclopedia. In total, you will already have 5 pets. However, they are gray rank and loot will be collected slowly. Ideally, you should strive to get 5 gold rank pets, which collect drops much faster. For playing with one account for 5,000 hours, you will receive your choice of a certificate for a cat or a dog.
Also, the developers periodically hold all sorts of events, during which they give away pets - mostly unique ones, which can only be obtained once. Also, a ghost or a yellow beak is often given out, either with a promotional code or simply when entering the game. If this is not enough, you can buy a pet in the game store for 350 pearls or through an auction (at the time this guide was written, it costs just over 100 million silver). When choosing which pets to buy, focus on what you primarily do in the game:
- Griffon - small griffin, panda, owlet, parrot, falcon, red panda, desert fox.
- Collection of resources - hedgehog, Flondor duck, fluff, peret, choppy, any cat, hermit crab.
- AFK fishing - otter, marmot, penguin.
Buy a pet in the computer version of the game
For those who have already purchased the Steam game Among Us, purchasing pets will be easier than for players on mobile devices. Since here you only need to top up your Steam account in any way so that there is a sufficient amount on your balance for payment. Therefore, before doing this, you need to log into your account and check the money in your account.
- Then open from the list of games in the library - Among Us;
- Click on the button with the dollar sign below;
- Select a suitable pet and click on its price below;
- The Steam store window opens, where you need to buy game value.
You will receive your pet for the game Among As immediately after purchasing it on Steam. If it doesn't appear in the list of available ones yet, try restarting the game and entering any created game. The pet can be selected before the game by opening the computer with settings. And selecting the appropriate tab in the settings.
Pet management
BDO pets are managed using a separate interface window. To launch it, click the paw icon in the upper left corner of the screen. When pets are hidden, 5 buttons with numbers are displayed opposite each one to assign the pet to the corresponding group. For example, you can assign pets to group 1 that boost combat experience and reduce equipment wear, and to group 2 they boost craft experience and search for resources.
Through the ESC menu, you can configure button combinations to quickly summon different groups of pets and hide them (ESC - Quick access in the old menu and ESC - Settings - Quick access in the new one).
In the summoned state, there are several buttons to control the pet:
- Behavior. In normal mode, BDO pets collect loot at a normal speed; in aggressive mode, they collect loot faster, but they also get hungry faster.
- Follow. You can order them to sit still or follow you.
- Specialty. Activates and deactivates the pet's special skill.
- Collection. Activates and deactivates loot collection.
A chronic game bug in Black Desert that has existed since the launch of MBT - pets have disappeared. If your pet icon has disappeared, log back to your character or restart the game. If all the icons in the upper left corner have disappeared, press ESC - Interface in the old menu or ESC - Settings - Edit UI in the new one. In the “Transport” element window, click on the eye image so that it is open and save the changes.

Ants are pet insects that have nothing in common with those that sometimes appear in the house and cause a lot of inconvenience. Ants should be purchased directly from a special farm. The upper part of the farm is transparent, so you can watch the life of the insect colony for hours.
Ants need high humidity, so do not forget to regularly wet the base of the farm and arrange a “watering hole” - place cotton wool soaked in water in a certain place. You should also always maintain cleanliness, remove food uneaten by ants, and wash the food tray.
Ants need to be fed a variety of foods. Suitable for them:
- insects;
- corn;
- fruits and berries;
- sweet natural syrups and juices.
Don’t forget to provide the ant with “building materials”: small pebbles, sand, and crushed bark. It is very interesting to watch how they build themselves “barricades”, “houses”, “corridors”.

How to get
In order to get this pet, you need to complete a simple quest or buy a Ticket to exchange for a pet in the clan hall (or ask for something to buy, it costs 550k per ticket) Quest for a buffalo: Help your uncle (25+ level) Quest for a kookaburra: Help son (24+ level) Cougar quest: Help your sister (26+ level) Please note that in each quest you will need to buy a normal middle D weapon, so prepare about 400k. First, the animal needs to buy food, it is bought from the same Pet Manager, called Cub Spice (costs very cheap ~120a), one bag of food is enough to fill half of the pet’s hunger bar, it eats itself from its inventory). The pet gets 5% of your experience, you don’t need to hit the mob, and it’s dangerous, because the little cub is very fragile and dies from one sneeze from a nearby mob. To resurrect him, you can use Resurrection Scrolls from the Trading Post, you can ask him to resuscitate a bish/her/se/pp running past with a skill, or you can buy special Blessed Pet Resurrection Scrolls (restore 100% of experience, sold from the Priests of Dawn/Dusk during the week of victory and cost 6k ancient adena + 1-3k ordinary adena).
How to name
You can give your pet a name written in English, Russian characters, numbers, or all of these at once. If it says that “There is a space in the name”, although there is none there, then this means that such a name already exists and you need to come up with another one (or write it using a combination of English and Russian layouts - fixed?)
How to pump up to 55
There are two options - you took him at ~lvl 24 and you took him at a high level 1. You and the pet are initially about the same level. At first he will lag behind you a little, but after 40 he will easily catch up with you in level and will stay approximately at your level always. 2. Your level is significantly higher than the pet’s level. Since the beast receives 5% of the summoner’s experience, it will also level up quite quickly, because at high levels there is more experience for a mob, but the mobs themselves are angrier, you need to take care of the pet’s safety (put it in a safe corner, armor will not help him at these levels, as the mobs are much taller and deal him up to 3k or more damage at 500 hp). You can also take twinks to the Kamaloka 20+ party, the pet there gets somewhere around 30-50% for Kamaloka (for full vitality twink), solo kama or lab.
The most difficult period is from 24 to 40, as the pet barely crawls in %, after 40 or 45 the pet begins to swing at an accelerated pace, you can increase from this level to 55 in one day. Approximate timing: char 56->58 for 40-55 pet, char 63->67, and pet 26->55
It doesn’t make sense to go above 55 as a Cub, because when you transfer it to a grown-up, the experience is recalculated and from 60 Cub it will become 55.30 Grown-up Cub (approximately). In order to turn a Cub into a Grown-Up, call the animal and go to the Pet Manager, select the line “Improving Pets”, in the next menu select the type of pet. Voila!
So what do we have? HP has increased significantly (up to ~2.5k), def has also increased, and now the pet has become much more durable. To increase his survivability, I recommend buying him armor and jewelry. It’s better to buy top-end jewelry - Pendant with Azof (m def 94), and middle armor will do just fine - Bronze armor for a grown-up cub (p def 124) for ~4.5kk. ATTENTION! The armor for baby pets cannot be improved and this is not a bug. Another new thing is that the animal began to eat more and food became more expensive (~1350a per piece. Food for grown-up babies and fills only 10% of the hunger bar), about 200 bags of food are enough for a day of training .
Control buttons
1 —change motion settings. Allows you to put the animal in a corner, but it will still run around buffing/healing/recharging, without returning to its quiet corner. You can fight using the 2 2 - allows you to attack the target. You can return the pet to yourself or hook it to a support that stands far from the mobs. Useful when recharging a kookaburra in the city - you can send the bird to hit the NPC, this way you will be in combat mode and it will pour MP into you. 3 - stop the task and return back to the owner 4 - pick up items from the ground into the pet's inventory 5 - put the pet in the inventory (all its things will remain in its inventory and will be there the next time it is called), the next time the pet is called it will be with the same buffs that were on it when recalled 6 - move towards the goal 7 - button to cancel the pet’s buffs (valid for 5 minutes, the pet does not apply buffs, but heals and restores MP, useful if you don’t need some kind of stupid buff like empa to the spoiler so that the pet did not run and did not aggro mobs again)
White bear cub
The Polar Bear Cub is a pet that can be obtained from the Gift Chest. There are no other ways to get a teddy bear in the game.
