Method for testing strength
We take passionate feelings, a pencil and a sheet of paper. Now look how easy it is to draw a rose:
- Draw a vertical curved line, this will be the stem. To it add a ball at the top and an oval along the diameter of the ball a few centimeters from the bud.
- Connect the oval and the ball with smooth curved lines so that your drawing looks like a champagne glass.
- Add two curved lines on the sides of our glass, they will become separate petals.
- In the oval, draw a curl approximately like that of a snail, only half as long. This will give you the appearance of many petals in your bud.

Learn to draw roses

How to draw a rose step by step and not get lost in the maze of petals
In order not to wander in the maze of petals when drawing a rose from life or a photograph,
you need to know how these petals layer on top of each other.
This is not even a lesson on “How to draw a rose”, but simply the stages of work.
Construction
| Let's look at the structure of the average rose flower. Let's start from the middle. And in the middle of the rose, if it has not yet fully blossomed, there is a bud of petals rolled up into a tube. |

Filling with watercolors
I tried to explain in great detail the stages of working with watercolors.
These steps are applicable not only to painting a rose in watercolor, but also to performing other works using watercolor glazes.
First, let's make a drawing of a rose, at least a contour sketch with thin lines. Try not to erase with an eraser (pellets may form in these places); if the main drawing was made using an eraser, then transfer the main lines to a new sheet of paper using glass against the light.
Attach the paper with thumbtacks or masking tape; wet paper may warp; if it is stretched, it will straighten out when it dries.
We begin to paint with very, very diluted watercolors. To make the watercolor glow, use more water when working with glazes,
so that through each new layer the layers that were applied before can be seen through.
In this case, I cover the entire rose with diluted cold red paint (you can use carmine, magenta, or kraplak), pouring very diluted green paint to the bottom of the bud.
Then the green will be covered with transparent layers of red and pink flowers, it will be almost invisible to the eye, but will give liveliness and naturalness to the petals.
By lifting the tablet, you can direct the flow of watercolor in the desired direction
Let the layer dry, and begin to deepen the dark places on the petals, to deepen we use warm colors and mixtures (red colors, raspberry-ocher mixtures), but most importantly, we again dilute the paint with water
Fill the background with cool shades. A cold background will push a warm rose forward. Fill the background so that on the light side of the rose the background is darker, and on the dark side of the rose the background is lighter. This will make the flower more voluminous. Don't try to achieve a uniform coating. Let the background be streaks and heterogeneous spots, this will give the work a picturesque and realistic look.
Using a thin brush, apply a pattern to the petals. We take the tone quite a bit darker than the petals. There is no need to make very dark lines; let these lines be inconspicuous, but they will be more realistic.
Around the rose we outline the background with green mixtures (ochre + ultramarine, ocher + blue, yellow + violet, green + cobalt, grass green + violet). Do not try to describe the leaves in the background; it is better to outline only the shape and shadow-light on the leaves.
Add warm spots to the background using the same mixtures used to paint the rose. The spots will echo the rose and balance the composition.
Add dark spots to the edges of the petals, not solid lines, but rather uneven spots. That's all. We remove the tape, sign and you can sign up.

Rose in watercolor
