Master Class. Card “Hearts” using techniques: iris folding and kanzashi

Greetings, dear friends!

I suggest you make a beautiful card with two hearts using the techniques: iris folding and kanzashi.

Required materials and tools:

• cardboard for the postcard base

• satin ribbons

•2 heart templates from the Internet

• pencil

• scissors

• scotch

I printed out two copies of the finished heart template on the Internet.

We will paste one copy onto a thick base for ease of future use and cut it out along the contour.

The second copy will serve as a pattern for gluing the strips.

For the base of the postcard I took a sheet of white cardboard.

Folded a sheet of cardboard in half.

Let's trace the heart templates on the cardboard.

Carefully cut out the hearts.

Attach the diagram to the working surface of the table using tape.

Place the card face down on the diagram, as shown in the photo. A diagram is visible in the cardiac window. We secure the edges of the card with tape to the working surface of the table.

To fill the hearts, I took satin ribbons of two colors, the width of the ribbon was 2.5 cm.

I prepared the required number of strips of pink satin ribbons.

The stripes should be slightly wider than the sectors on which we will apply them.

This must be taken into account so that there are no random gaps in the picture and when laying out the strips slightly overlap each other at the back.

According to the diagram, we gradually lay out the strips of tape in the required order, securing them with tape.

We close the last window with a strip of crimson ribbon.

Let's see what happened.

On the diagram of the second heart we again fix the card face down. We secure the edges of the card with tape to the working surface of the table.

I prepared the required number of strips from crimson ribbons.

According to the diagram, we gradually lay out the strips of tape in the required order, securing them with tape.

We close the last window with a strip of pink tape.

Let's remove the tape and see what happens.

I made holes along the edge of the work with a hole punch.

I threaded a narrow satin ribbon through the holes and secured the edges of the ribbon on the back of the cardboard with tape.

Apply glue to the back of the work and cover it with a sheet of paper, gluing it to the work.

Along with my passion for iris folding, I came across the kanzashi technique.

I decided to add a flower using the kanzashi technique to the postcard.

Two loving hearts knock in silence

Their motive is naive and simple.

And in every sound I hear

Whisper of peonies and roses.

Thank you for your attention and support!

Corrugated paper hearts

You need to cut out a circle from double-sided red or pink paper and fold it like an accordion. It will look like corrugated paper.

Now you need to fold this accordion in half and secure it in the center with glue or double-sided tape. As a result, you will get a very original voluminous heart.

The size can be any. In order for the heart to stand, you need to make a stand for it.

Take a strip of cardboard and make an accordion out of it. Now you can glue a heart into each recess. If you only have one heart, make a stand with one indentation. It all depends on your imagination.

Templates of original valentines for Valentine's Day

Candle with heart

There is a candle in every home, and to give your home interior more warmth and romance, you can make your own candle in a glass holder with a small heart inside.

This candle can be presented as a small gift, or you can make several pieces, then they will be enough for a romantic dinner.

You need to prepare:

  • wax for making candles;
  • red candle paint;
  • aromatic oils optional;
  • wick;
  • square glass candlestick, transparent;
  • a small heart-shaped cookie cutter;
  • a small baking tray or baking dish of any shape;
  • vegetable oil;
  • glue gun with a rod;
  • burner.

Grease the baking dish with a small amount of oil to make it easier to remove the wax later.

Heat the wax in a water bath or double boiler. Add aromatic oils and dye to the wax. Pour into a greased mold so that the thickness of the wax is approximately 1-1.5 cm and allow to cool.

When the wax hardens and becomes similar in consistency to thick dough, carefully squeeze out 4 hearts with a heart-shaped mold. Leave the resulting hearts until completely frozen or, to speed up the process, place them in the refrigerator.

Use a burner to heat one wall of the candlestick, place the heart inside and heat it with the burner until it sticks. In the same way, glue the remaining 3 hearts to the free sides of the candlestick.

Using a glue gun, glue the wicks to the center of the candlestick to the bottom. Heat the wax in a water bath to a temperature of 70 degrees and carefully pour it into the candlestick. After the wax has cooled, trim off the excess piece of wick.

In this simple way you can make very beautiful and stylish candles in candlesticks.
