A wide range of colors and shades of foamiran allows you to get the most natural, effective product. How to make autumn leaves from foamiran and how to assemble an original and attractive craft from them - read the article!

Making autumn leaves from foamiran

The main element of any autumn craft is foliage. In order to make autumn leaves from foamiran, we will need the foam itself (of various colors in the autumn range), leaf templates cut out of cardboard or tin (you can draw it yourself or find it on the Internet), acrylic paint (green, burgundy, yellow, dark purple ), textured leaf molds, floral wire, tape (olive, brown), toothpick, Secunda glue, regular and shaped scissors, foam sponge, iron.

You can decorate the interior of your apartment in the autumn with interesting leaves, which can be easily and simply made from foamiran.

Let's get started:

  1. We attach the templates to the shape, trace them with a toothpick and cut out the leaves along the contour.
  2. Depending on the type of leaf, we process its edges (for example, with curly scissors you can give a natural relief to the leaves of chestnut and birch).
  3. To make the foliage look more realistic, we break a toothpick unevenly and in some places pierce the fom blanks with it.
  4. We take a foam sponge, dip it in paint and tint the leaves in random order (you can be inspired by the look of natural foliage or photographs on the Internet).
  5. Using a lighter, we make an imitation of withered foliage (scorch the edges of the leaves in some places).
  6. Apply dark purple acrylic to a toothbrush and, using your finger, spray the paint onto the workpieces.
  7. Place the workpiece on the iron and heat it well (to a temperature of about 60 degrees).
  8. Press the mold tightly against the heated sheet (so that the middle vein on the mold is located in the middle of the sheet). If there are no molds for chestnut leaves, then you can use a birch mold, applying it to each part of the leaf separately (you also need to warm up the leaf in parts).
  9. We cut the wire into small pieces (cuttings), bend one end into a loop and glue the other to the leaf.
  10. We wrap the cutting with tape of a matching color and bend it randomly in any direction to make the product look more natural.

Autumn foliage is ready! Such leaves are perfect for creating autumn ikebana, garlands, panels, hair accessories, clothing decorations, children's holiday costumes, and themed photo shoots.

Lily

You will need:

  • sheets of foamiran green and white;
  • paints (preferably acrylic);
  • sheet of cardboard;
  • stamens (they can be purchased at a craft store);
  • heat gun;
  • wire (for the stem);
  • iron;
  • brown felt-tip pen and pencil;
  • toothpick;
  • scissors.

Master Class

  1. On cardboard we draw the outline of a lily petal, 6 cm long, and cut it out.
  2. We apply this template to white foamiran, trace it and cut it out. To create a lily we will need 6 such blanks.

  3. We tint the petals on both sides. A light pink or lilac color will look more natural.
  4. Next, heat the petals on an iron. While they are heated, use a toothpick to press out the veins. This will make our flower whiter, more textured and more realistic.
  5. We also heat the edges of the petal to give them wavy curves.
  6. On each petal we draw the bottom and dots with a brown felt-tip pen, making it look like the petals of a living flower.
  7. We glue the prepared stamens to the wire.
  8. On a sheet of green foamiran we draw 3 oblong leaves for the lily and cut them out.
  9. Heating with an iron gives texture to the petals.
  10. We assemble the flower: first glue 3 petals around the stamens, glue the remaining three next row, observing the checkerboard sequence.
  11. The last step will be gluing the green leaves.

Flowers from foamiran

Collecting autumn bouquets from foamiran

An autumn bouquet is not only colorful foliage. To this assemblage you can add flowers of autumn shades (these can be chrysanthemums, dahlias, roses, gerberas, physalis), ears of corn, straw, grass, rowan branches. It has been very popular lately to use artificial fruits, such as apples, in flower arrangements. Jewelry can be bought in handmade shops or made yourself. The main thing, when making elements for bouquets, is to leave their stems and cuttings long enough to put them together.

An unusual and fashionable autumn bouquet of foamiran in a pot can be an excellent decoration for the kitchen.

The shape of bouquets can be completely different, as well as their design. Tall, classic bouquets can be tied with twine, woolen threads, ribbons, or wrapped in craft paper. Low assemblages - plant in a hat box, wicker basket, wooden, decorative box. A composition of autumn flowers decorated in topiary will look especially impressive.

Another idea concerns glasses with a long stem.

They can be made on top, on a glass, or, upside down, on a stem. If you want, try making it in a tall glass. It also looks very original! I'll tell you about an upside down glass.

We outline the top of the glass. We make 2 blanks from beautiful paper. We glue these blanks together. Let's align them. Glue a toy in the middle of the blank.

Cut out a circle from foamiran to the size of the bottom of the glass. Turn the glass over and glue this circle.

On it, in the middle, we glue a foam ball with one edge cut off. Glue flowers and leaves around this ball.

If you want, you can decorate the base of the topiary, add shiny buds or beads.

How to make autumn wreaths from foamiran

Particularly popular today are autumn wreaths made of foamiran leaves and flowers. To make a wreath, we will need a multi-colored fom (burgundy, yellow, green), curly and regular scissors, floral wire, hot glue gun, iron, foam balls (3-4 cm), olive tape, acrylic paint to match the fom's color, foam sponge, satin ribbons to match the main color of the composition.

Stylish wreaths with beautiful flowers, which you can make with your own hands, remain popular and in demand today among needlewomen.

Making a wreath:

  1. We prepare the leaves (see the first master class), making cuttings of the same length as the leaf blade.
  2. We prepare rose petal blanks: we cut multi-colored squares of the same size from foamiran.
  3. Using curly scissors, we process part of the square with a corner and two adjacent edges and tint it with paint using a sponge (for example, burgundy petals with yellow acrylic).
  4. We heat the pieces on the iron and shape them with our fingers, crumpling and stretching the edges.
  5. We string a foam ball onto a wire and overlap the petals onto it.
  6. We decorate the bottom of the bud with two green petals.
  7. Wrap the stem of the rose with tape. The flower is ready!
  8. We cut 50 cm from the wire and make loops at the ends of the piece, which we wrap with tape.
  9. We begin to wrap autumn elements to the segment: take 2-3 leaves, apply them with cuttings to the segment and secure with tape.
  10. In the same way, we attach the rose, the rest of the leaves and flowers (about 5-7 roses and 20-25 leaves per headband).
  11. We thread satin ribbons through the loops (with their help you can securely fix the accessory on your head).

The autumn wreath is ready! Additionally, you can decorate the product with straw, tree branches or vines, spikelets, artificial fruits and vegetables, acorns and pine cones: the more diverse, small decorations, the more interesting and expressive the work will be!

What is foamiran and where can you buy it?

Foamiran appeared on the market of materials for creativity and handicrafts a long time ago. Its name is consonant with the name of the manufacturer - “Foamlran”; it is often supplied to Russia from Iran. The material has gained popularity due to its unique properties: with slight heating, foamiran can be given absolutely any shape. At the same time, it is environmentally friendly. The material is also rich in color palette. All these characteristics made it so popular for creating flowers, jewelry and toys. He rightfully earned the love of many needlewomen. Foamiran can be purchased at art and craft stores. Online stores offer a large assortment at quite attractive prices, and they also deliver goods to any region. Craftswomen who have at least once created jewelry from foamiran know how easy and pleasant it is to work with it. The material is pliable, the products are bright and neat. So that even novice craftswomen can create charming flowers, we have made a selection of master classes. For clarity, step-by-step instructions with photos.

What other autumn crafts are there from foamiran?

Autumn leaves from foamiran can be used not only for making attractive bouquets and original wreaths. So, a garland of withered leaves can create an autumn mood. The scheme for assembling such a garland is quite simple: leaves are attached to twine, at equal distances, using glue. Such garlands can be attached to a decorated surface individually or combined with a horizontal element (twine, twig) into one composition and hung together. In addition, the leaves can be glued to a regular Christmas garland with warm light!

Multi-colored autumn leaves made from foamiran can be used to decorate any thing, including accessories.

A brooch made from autumn leaves will be attractive and original; to make it you will need:

  1. Make 3-4 (depending on size) multi-colored autumn leaves from foamiran.
  2. On the largest sheet, on the back side, glue a pin to size using a hot glue gun.
  3. Place the prepared leaves in random order and secure with glue.

You can additionally decorate the brooch with artificial berries (for example, St. John's wort, blueberries), jute twine, and spikelets.

Replaceable window decoration (wood)

The master class was prepared by Irina Mironova.

To make a reusable window decoration you will need:

  • Fom - brown, two shades of orange, yellow;
  • Double-sided tape;
  • scissors;
  • stationery knife;
  • non-writing pen;
  • templates of leaf, tree trunk. (photo 1)

1. Trace the leaf and tree trunk templates onto the shape using a pen. 1 trunk, 20 leaves. (photo 2)

2. Cut leaves and tree trunks with scissors. (photo 3)

3. Using a utility knife, cut lines on the trunk that resemble branches. (photo 4)

4. Cut out the veins on the leaves with a stationery knife. (photo 5)

5. Place double-sided tape on the leaves and trunk of the tree. (photo 6)

6. Glue it to the window.

Templates can be printed from the Internet or drawn yourself.
If the window frame has a crossbar, then the tree trunk is not solid. Double-sided tape peels off well from glass and sometimes from glass, which makes the decoration replaceable. For example, when winter comes, you can remove the leaves and add snowflakes in this place, in the spring the tree can “bloom” - make flowers on the branches, and in the summer - green leaves. It is convenient to store the decoration in a folder, until next time. Foam does not wear out as quickly as paper, which makes the product reusable. Flower petals

We will make large and small roses for the headband. For them you need to cut out squares from white foamiran. The number of buds is arbitrary according to your taste; I will have five large and five small. On the white foamiran we use a toothpick to make notches along which we will cut out squares.

To make one large rose, you need to cut out 15 squares measuring 3x3 cm. To make one small rose, you need to cut out 7 squares measuring 2.5x2.5 cm.

Advantages

  • Finished products are distinguished not only by their extraordinary beauty, but also by their durability and long service life.
    Absolute safety of the material. It releases no harmful substances and does not have a negative effect on the human body. The material also has no sharp edges that could cause damage.
  • Product flexibility. Foam has a velvety surface that is very comfortable to the touch. It has an elastic structure that can easily take any shape.
  • Availability of unique material for everyone. You can purchase it without any problems not only at special retail outlets, but also place an order on the Internet directly from the manufacturer. The cost of foamiran is very affordable, which makes it possible to use it often and in unlimited quantities.
  • It can be painted. Ready-made products or purchased sheets can be painted in a wide variety of colors using acrylic or watercolor paints. Also, gouache or even multi-colored crayons are suitable to give the required shade.

An important point is that foamiran products are not afraid of moisture and do not deform, so they do not lose their original shape and properties. Any dirt can be easily removed from the surface with a damp cloth. Moreover, the material is not exposed to different temperatures, so it does not lose its quality.

Flaws

  • You should be careful when working with foamiran. Do not heat it too much, as this may reduce its size or make it brittle, and do not stretch it, as it may tear.
