Winter crafts for kindergarten: 100 master classes with step-by-step photos

Penguins, snowmen, snowflakes, clouds with snow, landscapes and Santa Claus are waiting for you. How to make winter crafts for kindergarten?

If you choose the most relevant winter images, then your work will be much more interesting, and winter will seem not such a harsh and boring time of year.

Winter crafts for kindergarten

It’s good if you have the opportunity to share the results of your work with children and teachers in kindergarten - for example, by presenting them at a thematic exhibition. Usually, a child really wants to take any crafts, including winter ones, to kindergarten: with his own hands he managed to create something new and interesting, and he expects that the fruits of his creativity will arouse interest among other children and teachers.

You can also devote a themed activity in kindergarten to creating winter images. It will be more expedient for him to choose crafts that can subsequently form a single composition.

Winter craft “mittens” for kindergarten

The simplest version of the “mitten” craft is applique. We cut the mitten according to the child’s hand. We decorate it with buttons and cotton wool trim.

Mitten applique

The mitten applique can be made from felt. If you attach a thread to it, then we will get an original Christmas tree decoration.

In the form of a mitten, you get a very beautiful winter card. May everyone have happiness this winter!

Souvenir "snow globe"

Anticipating the New Year and Christmas holidays, all stores fill their shelves with New Year's souvenirs - a snow globe. It is a glass ball with Santa Claus, a snowman or another themed silhouette inside. When you shake the ball, snow or shiny snowflakes begin to swirl in it. You can easily buy a ball in any store, but it is much more interesting to make it yourself, with your own hands.

Little time is spent on the process. To work you will need a simple, budget set of materials:

a transparent glass container with a tight-fitting lid (can be used for baby puree);

  • decorative New Year's figures - Christmas tree, snowman, sleigh, deer, men;
  • sparkles, artificial snow;
  • water;
  • glycerol;
  • hot glue.

Decorative figures should be of such a size that they can easily fit inside the jar, and there will still be room on top for the sparkles to float freely.

Master class on creating a ball:

  1. Drop a little glue onto the bottom of the jar and glue the prepared figurine;
  2. Mix water and glycerin in equal proportions, pour the resulting solution into a jar;
  3. Add glitter or fake snow;
  4. Place a few drops of glue on the lid and screw tightly onto the jar.

If you have a beautiful glass jar at your disposal, you can do without a glycerin solution. The craft will look incredibly beautiful.

Winter craft “cloud with snow”

As an option for decorating a window, an unusual winter pendant is suitable: for example, in the form of a snow cloud and large falling snowflakes. Both the cloud and the snowflakes are made from cotton balls: by pinching off pieces of cotton wool, we compact them tightly into a fist until the fist is full. Having opened it, we get neat cotton balls. We glue some of it onto the cardboard outline of the cloud, and string some of it on a thread. We fasten the threads with snowflakes on the cloud - you're done!

Openwork snowflakes made of white paper look original on pendants.

The pendant can also be placed on the wall in a suitable place - for example, in a corner where a future exhibition of winter exhibits is being prepared.

Winter craft “snowman”

The most popular winter exhibit will, of course, be the snowman. It can be created from a variety of materials. For example, by filling half a transparent plastic bottle with cotton balls, we get the head of a snowman. Let's glue on toy eyes, a felt triangular carrot nose, draw out the contours of the mouth with black circles and coals - and now the face is ready. Let's put a hat made of a warm white sock and a felt scarf on his head - and our snowman is ready to take a place at the exhibition.

Craft a snowman from a transparent jar

Snowmen made from cardboard toilet paper rolls are suitable as table souvenirs. Let's paint them white, glue on buttons, toy eyes and small felt noses - carrots, tie scarves from braid - and now the snowmen take on a characteristic appearance. The highlight for them will be hats - headphones made of fluffy pompoms and pieces of chenille (fluffy) wire.

Master classes on creating panels from natural materials on the theme of winter

Panel with a winter composition in a corridor design

Before creating a panel, you need to figure out what materials will be needed, and to do this, determine which particular motif is present in the winter/New Year panels.

  1. Winter means snow, which means it needs to be imitated. Semolina and cotton wool will cope with this task perfectly. From the first material you can create a snow cover, from the second - kuchugurs and volumetric elements.
  2. The main object of the New Year is the spruce, and it is naturally green. To create such an “image” you can use dried green leaves, laurel, and branches of coniferous plants. If the panel is three-dimensional, the cones perfectly imitate pine needles, but they need to be painted green.
  3. A winter New Year's panel would not be complete without decorations for the Christmas tree; they can be made from dried flowers, their petals, and berries.
  4. Trees in winter have no leaves, so it won’t be easy to put them on a panel; branches and pieces of wood will do.

Panel “Winter outside the window”

A wall panel with deer, flowers and fir trees will be an excellent New Year's gift

Winter panels are not so colorful (compared to autumn or summer), but they also have their own charm.

Christmas tree panel

Beautiful New Year's panel with a blue Christmas tree

To create you will need:

  1. Thick cardboard, maybe packaging, a sheet of white A4 paper.
  2. The glue is transparent, you can use “Moment”.
  3. Scissors and fabric. The latter is needed to create a festive background.
  4. Dried leaves and flowers.

On the base - cardboard, if it is packaging, that is, brown, you need to glue a sheet of paper. Cover the top with the selected fabric, while you need to bend the edges over the base by 1.5-2 cm.

Next, on a sheet of paper you need to “assemble” the Christmas tree (without glue yet), simply by arranging the existing leaves. More voluminous sheets are placed on the lower tier, and the higher, the thinner the leaves. When the composition has been selected, you can attach it to the base. Moreover, there is no need to lubricate the entire sheet with glue; a few dots will be enough, so the panel will look more natural.

Making a Christmas tree on a thread panel

A panel made from natural materials with your own hands will add comfort to your interior.

You need to start the assembly from the bottom tier, the final component is the top. It is worth decorating the spruce with multi-colored small flowers or their petals. Now all that remains is to wait until the panel dries and frame it.

Salt dough snowman (video):

A real winter picture of a “family of snowmen” comes from white gloves. We cut out the fingers from the gloves and glue them to the main background - we will get little snowmen. We decorate snowmen with ribbons - scarves. Glue on the eyes and noses.

New Year's composition

Much has been said about individual decorative elements; it is worth considering the whole composition. To make it you will need: bark, cones, artificial berries and pine branches, acrylic paint and a toy figurine of a deer.

First you need to paint the figurine and “powder” the bark with white paint. The bark itself is embossed, so there is no need to create additional snowdrifts.

The strokes should be light. All that remains is to shade everything with a sponge and tint the deer in a light shade. The bush, formed from fir branches, also needs to be painted and decorated with cones and berries. A charming winter composition is ready.

Winter craft "penguin"

No less popular than the snowman, another winter character is the penguin. A penguin can be made from egg cartons.

Cardboard penguin

A cute soft penguin can be made using the applique technique using paper and cotton wool.

Painting with a winter forest

If you have already learned how to draw Santa Claus, then let's learn how to draw winter drawings with a forest that is covered in snow. For this creative process we will use a simple pencil and gouache. You will also need an eraser, brushes of different sizes, a palette and a container of water.

Let's get started:

  1. We mark the boundary between heaven and earth with a wavy line.

    Now, we denote the trunk of the spruce with a vertical line. A little above the bottom edge we draw a horizontal line, the length of which will be the width of our tree. From the upper end of the vertical sketch we draw the tree itself.

  2. Then, in an identical way, we draw two more similar trees on the left side of the sheet. We add Christmas trees on the right side, but they will be in the background. We detail all the trees and snow drifts under the tree trunks. We display a round moon in the sky. So, we learned how to draw a winter forest, now let’s start working with paints.

  3. Mix blue and pink on the palette. Add white to the mixture to get a soft purple hue. We transfer this paint to another part of the palette, add pink and white there, we get a crimson shade. Next, mix yellow with orange and add a little white. On the palette we also mix yellow with brown and white and next to it we make a mixture of yellow and white.
  4. Use the darkest color to paint the top side of the picture. Around the silhouette of the moon to the border of the snow, paint the area with a mixture of yellow and white. Add a raspberry tint and smooth out all the transitions with a mixture of yellow, orange and white. Paint the moon white.
  5. We outline the contours of the snowy hills in a soft purple tone. On the hills with a light yellow tint, add the reflection of the moon on the snow. We paint the Christmas trees and shadow areas in the background of the picture with purple. Apply it to a green palette with a thin brush. Using this color we outline the contours of the Christmas tree branches in the foreground.
  6. Add green white and paint over the remaining areas. We draw tree trunks with brown. We paint over the snow in the foreground with soft purple and gray shades. We place shadows under the trees in the foreground. We whiten the perimeter of the snowy hills with white. Using a pale green tint, we paint snow on the Christmas trees. We use white to add highlights on the trees. Add a light purple tint to the shadows under the trees.

The work is ready. This is how easy it is to draw a winter forest. The work is not difficult, even if you are new to this type of creativity.

Winter crafts snowflakes

Very interesting snowflakes are made from thin strips of plasticine.

Plasticine snowflake

A very beautiful and delicate snowflake can be made using a glue gun. We will need a snowflake pattern on paper on which we will apply hot glue. When the glue hardens, we will paint the snowflake white and sprinkle it with glitter.

Idea 2. Skating rink with a controlled figure

The originality of this winter craft is that the skater can be smoothly “rolled on the ice” by moving a magnet along the back of the box.

What you need:

  • A shallow tin can for cookies, tea, etc.
  • Paper;
  • Paints and brushes, pencils or markers;
  • Paperclip or coin;
  • Glue;
  • Magnet.

How to do it:

Step 1. Decorate the tin box so that it resembles an ice skating rink: paint the bottom with blue and white paint and cover with clear varnish (glitter nail polish works well), you can place garlands and flags on top of the box, and snow-covered trees on the sides.

Step 2. Draw a figure of a girl or boy skating on thick paper or cardboard, then cut it out and glue it to a coin or paperclip.

Step 3. Attach a magnet to the back of the box. Voila, the skating rink is ready!

What to make a panel from

Of course, there are a lot of materials for making panels, but what is suitable for beginners? Often they want to create a picture of amazing beauty, so attention automatically falls on materials that are difficult to use, for example, pieces of leather. Only real professionals feel comfortable working with it, which cannot be said about beginners

It is better to stick to paper fakes, which can also be made very beautifully. The simplest is the geometric abstract image, the popularity of which should not be underestimated.

It may be based on:

  • Combinations of figures;
  • Specific images;
  • Strict abstraction.

Winter craft “Bullfinch”

One of the most favorite winter crafts is the bullfinch bird. The bullfinch stays with us during the harsh winter and inspires us with its bright plumage. The easiest way to make a beautiful bullfinch is using the applique technique.

Idea 4. Mini Christmas tree made of paper

Another winter craft idea for little ones is paper Christmas trees. They are made very easily and quickly, and you can use them in any way you like: as decoration for the same diorama, applique for a New Year's card or panel, for decorating a garland or Christmas tree.

What you need:

  • A sheet of green paper and some brown paper for the trunk;
  • Glue stick;
  • Scissors;
  • Sequins, rhinestones, beads and other decorations for the Christmas tree.

Step 1. Make a square from a sheet of green paper by folding one corner of the sheet as shown in the photo and cutting out the excess.

Step 2. Cut one of the short sides of the triangle into equal narrow strips, not reaching the fold about 1 cm (see photo above).

Step 3. Now straighten your workpiece and begin gluing the ends of the strips to the center fold line one by one, moving from bottom to top.

Step 4. Once you have secured all the stripes, fold and glue the bottom corner of the tree to the top. Next, in the same place, but on the reverse side, glue a small rectangle (tree trunk) cut out of brown paper.

Step 5. Decorate the tree with colorful beads, sparkles, buttons and other decor. If you wish, you can make several of these trees, glue loops to them, and then assemble a garland or decorate a real tree with crafts.

Winter houses and cities

You can make a very effective composition on the theme of winter. All elements of the composition are mounted on a cardboard base. The house is made from milk cartons. Figures made of papier-mâché and cotton wool.

Hair decorations using the kanzashi technique

The Japanese traditional hair decoration kanzashi has been known since the 17th century. Kanzashi are made from varnished wood, precious metals, turtle shells, and silk. Creating real kanzashi is a labor-intensive, jewelry work that only professionals can do.

Many mothers, while on maternity leave, create kanzashi-style hair jewelry

In amateur handicrafts, kanzashi refers to the creation of hairpins decorated with fabric flowers.

There are only two elements in kanzashi - a narrow petal and a round petal. Petals can be voluminous or flat. Both are rolled from a square blank and glued together.

Experienced craftswomen advise melting the prepared squares immediately on a candle or with a lighter. Or immediately cut the parts with a soldering iron or wood burning device.

Santa Claus - winter crafts with a magical grandfather

One of the most beloved winter characters is Grandfather Frost. The easiest way to make a magical grandfather is to make him out of accordion-folded paper.

A simple picture of a house in the snow

If you have already learned how to draw a winter birch tree and do not know how to draw winter for 8-year-old children, we suggest that you familiarize yourself with this lesson. The work is not difficult, as elementary school students can easily cope with it. When you start drawing for the first time, it is better to use a pencil for a sketch; it can be easily erased with an eraser and corrected.

Let's get started:

  1. We draw a vertical segment in the center of the album sheet. At the bottom of this sketch we draw a horizontal line and add a second vertical line at the end. To the right side of the sketch, draw a triangle on the top side without a bottom.
  2. Draw a vertical line to the left side of the triangle. Now, from the end of the figure, draw a snow-covered roof with a wavy line. We finish the sketch of the roof with a similar segment.

  3. On the walls of the house, we will make a silhouette of a window and complement it with a snow-covered window sill. On the remaining part of the house we depict a door, above which we show a lot of snow. We add a handle to the door.
  4. We depict a chimney on the roof. Next, around the house we will create a large snowdrift and many traces in the form of circles. On the sides of the main silhouette we depict a Christmas tree and smoke coming out of the chimney. At the top we show stars of different sizes. We figured out how to draw a winter picture, now you need to color it.
  5. We paint the sky purple. Let's paint the light in the window of the house yellow. We paint all the snow in the picture blue. Then we paint the snow pink in some places. We paint the trees green and paint the house brown. After applying the first layer of brown, take the same color, but much darker and tint some areas.
  6. We paint over the smoke with gray, and finally, we detail the background with snowflakes.

The landscape is ready. After drawing such a picture according to our instructions, you will understand that the work is quite easy, even for novice artists.

In a separate article we have interesting drawings of winter landscapes.
